What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hi

A 6.2 here in unlocked London..or so it seems
No temperature check today so far.
A very late start...3 pm... Oh the shame.

So a quick catch up on the news.

Protesters protesting their freedoms
Or 5G... Not sure but with that, the VE Days celebrations and so many back on tubes and buses, I think that covers the uptick needed to keep spreading the virus in london.

And clarity of confusion ongoing.

Police stopping motorists on the A 23 heading Brighton way, as the advice is clear.
No unnecessary trips out unless heading to a public open space regardless of how far away it is, as
driving anywhere is/is not... .restricted in England....:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

So as you were all.

Stay safe, if you can.

We sure are. I don't think this rough paper is good for my stile of landscapes unless quite abstract. So until it's used up I think I shall be attempting some more abstract or tighter subjects, research needed and a step into a new approach.
The problem with art paper @Muddy Cyclist , is that we need to try all different kinds of papers, and there are a lot out there. But it is very expensive to try them all out.

good evening all :)

was 4.5 this morning

just had a quiet day pottering about jobs in the house (and mr gee pottering in his shed ;)), the weather has been changeable but warmer today so that's good :joyful:

Just about to head into the kitchen to prepare italian meatballs ready for tomorrow's dinner.

Hope your day is treating you kindly :)

@gennepher - another strong pastel, lovely sky :)
@Muddy Cyclist - interesting the difference in paper texture, I do like the texture in the foreground field particularly.
I'm interested to see whether there will be any difference in surface texture between the paper I am using currently and the new paper when it arrives.

today's art catch up - not a tribute to another artist, but mr gee laughed and said it is sort of a tribute anyway :hilarious:
Still life - leaf of Brassica oleracea var. botrytis :D :angelic:

That is a great leaf @geefull
It captures all the qualities of that cauliflower leaf.

well, just to recap on my day.

a very late start, and then dinner.
Pablo was looking too forlorn to ignore anymore.

With Eggs as my Raison d'être..i fired up the hog, and went for a spin...;)

Been out in the car many times, lauren was, before furloughed... essential worker,
and to avoid the death trap tubes i drove her in. so been out a few times

even stood out with neighbours at the local concert, until it all got a bit too
busy for the sing song and the non locals decided SD was standing by my shoulder.. :banghead:

i then seemed to withdraw slightly..didn't really realise it either.
i stopped the popping out for the streets music, i stopped the clap...i just stopped.

but today..i reclaimed a little piece of my Soul
it was late, 8pm, traffic was light, and i was prepared to reclaim some of my previous life.

( i didn't stop, except at lights, mask and helmet, so Sd was maintained at all times. ;))

but my goodness that fresh air felt GREAT.
if you don't ride..you get where you are going fine,
but you don't experience the world in that tin cocoon as you go.

so i may be explaining the colour blue to those who can not see.

but, man ...it felt GOOOOOOD...:D:D:D:D

tomorrow or Monday i may start back out on the pushbike...
and get used to the herd moving past me at less then safe distance.

Not dead yet, and no intention that will be next week either,
so with a close eye on my 6, and a steady nerve, the outside beckons once more.

Temp is 36.1
had dinners, so no BG for now.
just wanted to share.

the AIR is NOT Toxic....:D
(but people can be...:wideyed: )

hands up moment..had discussion with lauren.
mentioned it spoils TV when i start thinking..
"OMG, that's NOT 2 metres.."
when i see a show..

am i alone :bag:

:)

A dramatic pastel sunset for today.

Took me an hour an a half..
I based it on a collection of cuttings from things from over the years...magazines etc. I have a box I have collected of pictures/photographs that interested me. So I used that as a base for this pastel.

A very fiery sunset, it's how I imagine an American Cowboys day ends as they return to the ranch after bedding down the herd. A bold piece of work.

Sounds absolutely amazing @jjraak
Good for you.
I am so pleased for you.

I cannot wait for Wales to allow us to get out of jail. End of May is the current suggestion. But I do need to get out to drive early morning and watch sunrises from tops of hills and mountains.

Hello. I am new here. I am also from USA. I am guessing my fasting numbers are different somehow? Mine run in the nineties on a good day and y’all have numbers under ten. I am so confused!! Help!

Hi!
Welcome :)
Good Morning from here!
Here is a blood glucose converter from US to UK. I hope this helps you :)

I am off to make a cuppa now. Catch you later :)

Good Morning and 5.5 for me today.

Think I will sneak out for a Mountain Bike Ride on the trails of Cannock Chase. I need to feel the wind that @jjraak mentioned on his 'moped' but under my own power and a little slower maybe hitting 30mph on some of the safer downhills, of course my roads won't be as smooth as his will have been so me teeth get a workout as well. I will avoid all the carparks as I hear they have all been reopened so more people behaving badly. Or I could just go now and beat the Visitors.

Embrace the day no matter what it throws at you, keep safe.

A simple 6.0 this morning and I finally have a day off :)

Received a letter from the NHS saying that as I was high risk I should stay isolated until the end of June, no problem as I was planning on doing it until Dec... 2030 ;)

Reading your post made me wonder whether I am being a bit mean vetoing any thoughts Mr K might have of taking his Triumph Bonneville out for a spin.

The problem is, though, that around here rather a lot of drivers have been caught speeding. Several as high as 125 mph.

This is brilliant @gennepher I love it.

16.05.2020
6.20am FBG 5.4. better number today.
Ordered grass seed from Amazon, should have done it three days ago, but kept thinking would go myself, save on delivery charge. (Which is 25% of the cost) but just dont want to go to shop, after last week, when it was so crowded. My masks have not arrived, it doesn't feel safe. Will still have to go out, but to local rubbish site. On bike outside. Twenty five mins max. That's ok.
Have just checked the new updated post confinement rules for cycling and social distancing. Now five metre separation required for cyclists and walkers. This seems a bit strange to me as previously, believe it was two metres.
Still clearing up, but today tackling the vegetable debris deposited on the grass and along the fences. If I get that far. Not shovelling. It's nearly finished and my shoulder is protesting after it got bashed yesterday. Have tidied up some of the root vegetable bed and am looking forward to replanting.
Have a good Sunday.stay safe.

Morning...another late night but wondering why not as there is no routine here & we can please ourselves but that's the wrong way I have to instil some sort of routine starting tomorrow...need to have a quick tidy up the online shopping is due between 9-11am no idea why I'm about to scurry round the driver will not be coming in...listening to the news I try not to but somehow I gravitate back to it...wondering how the stand off between the Govt. & teachers will conclude I'm not convinced it is safe to reopen them & several of our family will not be sending their children back just yet...the emphasis on getting disadvantaged children back ASAP confuses me they will be the children most at risk as we know poverty & depravation increase the risk of the severity of the virus...we shall see...woke to a 6.5 fine for me I have not been terribly disciplined somehow it isn't worrying me...keep safe & social distancing.
