That was an absolutely dreadful thing to happen. At that time DDT was thought to be absolutely safe - even so it was insane to spray young children. Especially insane when the adults spraying it had to wear bio-hazzard suits.

6.50am FBG 6.4.
Not hungry so waited to see if last few days pattern of going down continued. Did go down, but very slowly
8.10am F G 6.2 hungry, so had breakfast.
Cat has got over his temporary dislike of his bed, it being the lower half of pet transporter. Seems more himself this morning. He was a bit disoriented last night, nervous and agitated. He has had a lot to cope with and more changes in routine are coming.
Today hope to finish tidying and taking out all extra stuff from the motorhome, yesterday discovered a leak. MrSlim says it's not important as it only drips my side of the bed! Now taxed it's road ready.
Cold this morning, only 3c Brrrrrr. Time to test motorhome central heating.
Time to brave the day, did I say I hate being cold?

Just an informative note we have not been able to visit MIL in care home for months now, they locked down, opened up, locked down but awhile back decided to stop all visits with no date to start again.

Thank you @Muddy Cyclist but I’m afraid that the chonmage (topknot) area of my bonce was made redundant quite a few years ago and no amount of rubbing in duck fat, unicorn yawns or sleeping next to a pyramid shaped crystal will bring it back.
I do feel so very sorry for our ancient ones that are so bereft of human touch.

The care home where MIL lives held a meeting yesterday. So, from 6pm today, only her legal carer (my wife’s twin sister) will be able to visit her in her apartment. She will though be able to go out. Plans for seeing grandchildren over the half term holiday will now need to be re-thought and we may need to dust off those zoom quizzes.

Great dramatic trees. Emphasised by that tiny figure...

My rice paper came from Amazon, exactly the same order as yours @dunelm but the **** of a packer had folded each pack over. It was divided into 5 separate packs, which had been flat sheets in their plastic bags with no folds. And each of the 5 packs was separately folded over and individually put in 5 sealed grey plastic bags. And then they were put in a cardboard box which was big enough to have put the flat packs of paper in without folding. The air was blue here. I was more than furious.
I could iron them, but I don't even iron my own clothes. The last thing my iron was used for was encaustic wax paintings, and the iron has coloured wax in the little steam holes...

Good news twin sister can visit MIL now.

Edit: it put stars in post. I can assure you I did not swear, well I might verbally say naughty words, but I would never write them down in a post. I did say T.W.A.T of a packer. Is that a swear word?

A 6.0 this morning in the shires.

Her ladyship has requested a final cut of the lawns although they haven't grown in three weeks. I guess the mower can pick up some of the leaves I missed :)

I didn't begin being sensible until this year so I shouldn't moan really.

All the best with the motorhome testing. Might be a good time to announce that you have been sleeping on the wrong side of the bed all this time.

Combined harvesters tend to clog up once the dew is on the crop.

So is all this the reason for my asthma and breathing problems now, as well as my other health problems of which there is quite a few?

I shall live as long as I am able to...my grandma lived to just a few days short of 100 years. She will be furious up there. She always wanted that telegram from the Queen...
 
Good morning. And it came to pass that we are all living as per Smokey R - wordz . I'm in joint charge of a 17 month old girl today - we're just about on the same intellectual level. Will today be day 6 of the mackerel and avocado salad extravaganza? It's either all go or all gone - hard to tell really. Enjoy the day as we can't be sure when the hard centres will return to the chocolate box of life now we've abandoned The Science.

Thank you. Going in lofts is not my favourite activity. I always recall my mom clipping me around the ears as a young kid for laughing at my dad. Dad fell through the gap between beams and I remember how funny it was seeing his legs sticking through the bedroom ceiling kicking wildly, mom was not impressed, dad was in agony and we had to call neighbors to get in the loft to extract him, he then spent days in bed recovering from his injuries. I now fear those gaps between the beams and can still feel the ringing in my ears from moms clip, MILs loft is not boarded out.

Thank you @gennepher and yes, I think some may think that that word is a sweary although it is just vulgar slang - unless of course you are talking of giving the packer a punch.
frustration - perhaps I have been lucky. I wonder if you could get in touch with the supplier and urge them to ensure that packers at Amazon flat pack them. I would be tempted to return - would laying them on a hard surface and stacking a load of books on top do the trick. I am looking at further supplies from Oriental Arts in Brighton or others from this list: https://cbps.org.uk/suppliers/

Starmer played a blinder. If Boris doesn’t do the circuit breaker thing and the tier system doesn’t work then he can point the finger and say I told you so. He’s also hoping Boris doesn’t, it all goes Pete Tong then Starmer gets the northern votes back - not. Blokes a fence sitting opportunist but at least he’s backing the gov in the biggest crisis in our lifetime....no wait!

I will have another look at them today @dunelm
I was not in a good mood earlier with it.
One of the packs had been taken out of its original clear plastic bag and folded badly like someone had pressed a sharp fold with their hands. That pack is irretrievable as large sheets.
The other 4 packs may respond to a ton of books on top. I will look later today. I did lay them out flat yesterday so I will look at them later.

I won't bother returning, more bother than it is worth. And to go on Amazon chat can take too long, although can get a result.

I was mentally prepared for them coming folded, although I had hoped they wouldn't be. And I had decided, if that happened, I would use them as half sheets. Looks like I will be using them as half sheets, or for making my postcards for my Postcrossing. In that case I have enough sheets to last a lifetime...

Thanks for your link. I will look in a minute when I have made another cuppa.
