What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from a powder coated morning in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of chicken salad came in at 5.0 this am

Trees, trees, wonderful trees. Thank you @Muddy Cyclist and @geefull.
@lindisfel - ouch!, for the blood draw. For the bewildered, ‘seax’ is a word for ‘knife’ and pronounced ‘sax’ - it’s the root word for ‘saxon’.
Success yesterday at my very late 2020 annual diabetes review - results next week.

Art for today - a wee dickie bird on rice paper about A4. Hope that everyone has a wonderful Friday. I am drinking koffy.

A fine portrait of Richard Bird although he seems a bit ruffled. :)

question for our very talented @Muddy Cyclist have you ever had an attempt at the serious art of morris dancing?
Sadly not, I have two friends who dance, both play in our folk group. They dance with 'The Ironmen' and we always go and watch them dance on NewYears day on The Ironbridge, sadly not this year.

Humbled by your 'very talented' description of me, sadly I'm more a Jack of all trades and master of non. :)

Morris Dancing, next time around, left it to late in this life time, knees not up to it.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are decisive about what colour socks to wear on these chilly days.

A 5.3 on that meter of mystery and whatever this Friday morning.

@ianpspurs I gave you a hug on your posting, perhaps I miss read it, but good luck with the new arrival and with fending for yourself.

I also feel a special mention is in order for @karen8967 whose posts and pictures always bring a smile, today's is a classic.

Well fellow posters, painters and gamers here today is a day of wonder, I wonder what mischief I can cause, third childhood is great, every moment precious and not to wasted on the mundane.

Now koffy is calling, pressure on the bladder building I just hope I don't get things mixed up hehehehe.

Stay safe, stay well, stay at home and lastly stay warm......must now dash.
Thank you for the hug especially as it was through thought and not a reflex whatevs action. No hug needed for me @alf_Josiah since in many ways this week (ish) will be optimal. Loads of sport on TV, stocks of mackerel, avocado, salad, tea, keto ready meals etc, etc all organised. Weather forecast suggests I'll be able to trot around the Slabbingtons 14 hrs a day and my exercise bike is open all hours. I have a son and his family 5 minutes walk away. Why, I even get to load the dishwasher as I see fit and mix and match things in the washing machine without the world ending.

Thank you for replying and also adding the picture, darn sarf the Morris dancers wear white, so we can infer the white carb is not a fixture.

a day of glitch?

no notifications that anyone had posted on here for me.
all notifications were for yesterday

no snow, cold but sunny day here in the Capital, Derek
This site is having a lack of notifications for me at the mo too...perhaps it froze with the cold....

Today's offering of art from me... asked on some Silver Birch trees we passed yesterday, they looked scruffy in a thicket by the canal...

A4 watercolour about 1 hour.... (not quite this blue purple in the original, iPad camera in blue period :).)

Wow, I love this @Muddy Cyclist
Stunning!
Cheers me up!

@ianpspurs An exciting, anxiously and magical weekend in your family, thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Thank you. Sure is exciting and anxious. Will I cause myself harm by filling the dishwasher wrongly or ruin all my clothes by failing to observe the correct protocols? Oh wait. Every time Julie is ill none of that seems to have happened and I survived on my own from leaving home for Uni until I married at almost 30. As you were.:angelic:

good evening all :)

4.4 today

Sheesh it was cold last night, not Braemar cold but we managed -14'C a mile outside the village and -10'C outside our back window.

Glad your jab went well @ianpspurs , mr gee had his first shot today too (Oxford/Astrazeneca) and it was a pretty slick operation at the local health centre.

They'd originally asked everyone to go in by the rear door but when we got there they had reverted to the main door as the paths were freezing in the shadow of the building (even with salt down) and because most of the group attending for injection are elderly they wanted to be able to observe everyone getting in and out safely :)

was quite a nice morning for the drive to town :)

We did some more snow shifting when we got back and then muffled up and had a walk.

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@dunelm - corvids ;) I'm glad you managed to get your diabetic review in :)
That's a fantastic rocky landscape and I love the weight and solidity of those cliffs above the mist :joyful:

@gennepher - lovely dawn picture with those trees silhouetted against the light, very effective :)

@Muddy Cyclist - Great, colourful treatment of those silver birches, I like it very much :joyful:

art bit - trying out pen and watercolour again, working on improving my trees, they have a lot to live up to on this thread :hilarious:
once again inspired by a work by Kathleen Caddick

Hello birdie!
There's two of them on my cherry trees at the moment, keeping all other birds at bay @dunelm

Painting in Procreate. Blue skies again, albeit minus 5C in the night.
So, cherry blossom against a blue sky...

Yes I know cherry blossom is pink, but it looked wishy-washy, so I made it brighter....

Meh. 2 days late but wow, where did that 50 years go? Who gets to have James Taylor and Joni Mitchell as backing artists? 14, I was once 14 - what happened there? I do love me that music made by the Laurel Canyon crew. Epic James Taylor line: But in those days, she seemed to watch the dancers with a kind, wry detachment.
Could I, should I?

8.30 am FBG 5.4
Astonishing result. Indulged in Dulce de Leche cheesecake at dinner, and late night snack several spoonfuls of peanut butter.
Although food has mostly been low carb for several weeks now.
Today we are packing to return to Midlands and motorhome living. I cannot honestly say that it is eagerly anticipated.
However needs must and the surgery has contacted MrSlim with offer of covid jab.
There is also my bossy sister insisting on return for Mothers birthday on Sunday.
Emotional blackmail is a very low trick, even if it usually works.
Stay well or get well, and stay safe.

5.1 this morning. Still minus outside and absolutely bitterly cold. It is snowing even though I am sure there was none forecast

Aldi shopping done, sanitised and put away. Will relax with a coffee and read yesterday's 'i' before doing some admin.

Ordered Psyllium husk earlier. The brand I have been getting is no longer available. I wonder if it is because it is from the EU.

You are right - it must be still in transit. What is really annoying is that faster transit was guaranteed.
It may stool be okay:angelic: ( I have a chart on a fridge door and 2 mugs with the BSS on them - no mention of Psyllium husk anywhere.) I'm an ideal 4 today for those that want to know:angelic:. You're a refined lady so enough's enough now.
