What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen. If you woke it's a good morning, now their's rational for you boyo's and girlo's.

Next rationalise this, blood sugars this morning were 4.4. More calculations, tea bag reading and a good old fashioned guesstimate for my insulin dosage.

Well posters, painters and gamers it's going to be another cold day, anything below 10 I define as cold.
Sorry must sign off Mrs J is moving around upstairs and I have make her early morning tea in her special mug.

Good Morning and 5 for me today. As the day seems to be kicking off with the word Rational there is absolutely non with my BG score today. Last night saw me give in to Mrs MCs Chickpea flan and even chips, followed by a jam tart made from the leftover shortcrust pastry, then cheese and biscuits. Also our dog Moet keeps crying with pain and the dishwasher packed up so lots of stress, and a night of worry and nightmares. So how is a reading of 5 rational?

Ah well lots to sort out today, no rest for the wicked.:)

Keep warm and safe.
I do hope Moet is OK. Will you be able to see a vet today.

Good morning everyone from an beautifully quiet morning in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of Korean pork came in at 4.8 this am

Fabulous art from @Muddy Cyclist, @geefull and @gennepher. Valentine’s day @ianpspurs - no, never saw passed the money making machine - but there is still pancake day.
Ying yang food and stress days @Muddy Cyclist and hope that the motor home can be started up @SlimLizzy

Art yesterday was fiddling about with Ogham Iris Script but did manage a magpie. Hope that everyone has good day. Koffy time.

Different reading glasses for we two. I can't help but see £/$ signs at the root of the LC/keto test, test, test bandwagon. If making a few other people some money also makes Julie happy I'm delighted to be gulled out of some money. I have never liked pancakes even on Jiff lemon day which is now Maple syrup day as I understand things.

7.30am FBG 5.9
No surprises there as was unable to get LC meals yesterday.
Same with breakfast this morning. Cooked breakfast delivered to room was a bacon bap. Yoghurt and berries, orange juice, a granola bar and a pot of fruit salad.
I ate the bacon, had a yoghurt pot. There was no provision for tea or coffee. :meh: although there is a kettle in the room, 4 portions of milk seemed skimpy to me.
The water here is disgusting. Strong chemical flavour. I had sugar free tonic instead.
We did manage to start the motorhome engine, the main problem is the boiler which is frozen up. So no central heating. Even if we do manage to get it defrosted, there is still no guarantee it will work.
The toilet is frozen too and the taps. Any one of which might spring a leak once defrosted.
Am seriously thinking of return to Norfolk immediately after I have been to see Mum.
It is her birthday after all.
MrSlim will have had his jab by then.
Am enjoying the artwork.
Keep/ get well and stay safe all of you.

Wow. I hope Moet won't be in pain for long and the dishwasher issues can be solved quickly - same day delivery at worst? The meal last night sounds wonderful and maybe the positive chemicals released by the food, atmosphere and letting go more than counteracted the cortisol planning and measuring so obviously causes. This ain't a one way street IMHO but what do I know?
Thank you, Moet will have to visit vets but we suspect it's his Arthritis, paracetamol in the meantime. Dishwasher just a minefield and inconvenience in these Covid times, really just a glitch in our little lives.

As for Low Carb and BG I am singing from the same Hymn sheet as yourself but all this feeding of Dracula and looking at diet keeps the mind focused so I guess is in some way helpful.

Thank you.

Is that a Gaelic Magpie? :) Whatever it's a fine specimen. Bíodh lá maith aga, couldn't sort it out in Ogham script so Gaelic will have to do.

It probably is Gaelic - translations are difficult sometimes because us English users speak back to front for some folk - Be day good at you (note: not bidet good at you) - It’s all a bit Romans they go the house.

Thank you for your concern and I know you understand the balancing that is required, but with a little persevance I might be able to eliminate a couple of unknowns.
Being active outside in the cold could have a big effect, I shall know shortly.
Once again many thanks and stay safe, stay well and stay warm

Anyone else see this (Vaccines and blood sugar levels) happening to their bg levels or able to provide a link to something on this forum?

Forgot to post fbs this morning. It was 5.8 but it was much later than usual so probably DP had set in. Am having a very hungry day today but have kept low carb.

Half term this week so I can relax today as no lesson plans to prepare. Am attending an online training session this evening so hopefully will get some ideas for new exercises.

That is interesting. I didn't find any difference in blood sugar levels in the week and a half since the Pfizer vaccine.

Thanks @dunelm
:)
A magnificent magpie.
That beak can hold a lot of booty when he climbs through an open window...

Delighted to hear that for your sake. For my part it offered another possibility for the very unwelcome odd readings of late. Currently managing my T2 feels more like not waving but drowning. There are some very dark places I could wander for explanations unless and until they are definitely ruled out.

I wouldn't be at all surprised that the vaccine is causing your unwelcome odd readings and I definitely would not rule that out. What I have noticed amongst friends and clients who have had either of the vaccines is that everyone's experience of the after effects of the vaccine is so different.

Also, it seems like people are more prone to side effects than they were when they had the flu vaccine. Of course that is only my opinion from talking to friends and clients.
