What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Busy day mostly in garden and recording music so just popping in and will catch up later with a glass of Brandy and a Log Fire lit.

Just putting today's art up Manicured Landscape and as requested by @ianpspurs Cricket and Churches. Lots to do will finish Monday. Now off to cook dinner, Tuna Steaks in Mediterranean sauce....

Great beginnings @Muddy Cyclist
Brought to mind the leaning spire of Chesterfield...

good evening all :)

4.6 today

dinner at Mum's today was high meat sausage casserole with a sauce made with half a can of ratatouille (10g of carbs from the label) as a concession to Sunday ;), lots of cauli and broccoli for me plus a couple of roasted spuds for mr gee and mum ;)

LC chocolate cake with a mixture of double cream and full fat yoghurt flavoured with rum for afters :)

Another paddling pool in mum's garden, this time it's in the hole mr gee dug :D hopefully a temporary feature ;) we've put an old plastic patio table top over it to keep Katy from getting curious.

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@gennepher - Hugs for your painful hands but a big star for the wonderful handsome portrait of Popeye you have created. I hope he is pleased ;)

@dunelm - hugs for the 'sleepies' mr gee was affected in the same way for a couple of days.
You have portrayed that misty morning very well, not easy, but you have managed it very effectively :)

@blacknjr - welcome :)

@Muddy Cyclist - these fast and furious tunes must be good for maintaining manual dexterity as well as being entertaining for us :D

art bit - a pen and wash for today

Thank you for the compliments @geefull

Love your pen and wash.
That single track lane takes me to the quiet secluded lake...

A friend texted me last night to say she liked very much my Beach series, and that I should take up illustrating children's books. And that I definitely had a future as a pet portrait artist. That could be a lucrative income for me. And she was going to send me a photo of her departed pet, and she would be my first customer.

I've done all of that, and more, got the t-shirt, and NEVER again. I absolutely detest and hate commissions. I paint and draw for myself now. I am a cantankerous, bad tempered, batty, old lady, and this time of my life is for me. It is not for pleasing other people or publishers, with my artwork.

So, that is my mood while I was painting this digital painting of ravens and a blackened oak tree.

I finished the painting, and I thought I had gone too far in my response to her, so I was going to apologise...a wee little bit. But when I logged in, "But you would do it for me wouldn't you? I've found the photo for you..."

I know my elderly cat inside out and back to front. It was actually easy doing his portrait. But I would never be able to satisfy another...I don't know their animal's foibles and quirks.

Now, I have things to do, places to go, things to sort out, and my day does NOT include answering chat apps of any description today, nor does it include pet portraits...

And those ravens on my cherry trees are very agitated and disturbed this morning....

I gave her short shrift...and that is the polite version...

A nice angry painting, I think the tree is extremely scary, brilliant. :)

Good Morning and 5.3 for me today. Result of Tuna Steaks in Mediterranean Sauce last night.

Dry here but cloudy so an early Muddy Cycle ride with the possibility of the trails being quiet as kids and teachers all back at school, fingers crossed.

The rest of the day, well art and music yes but what else, who knows.

Keep safe make good use of the character time.

5.5 this morning.

Had a lovely day yesterday. Were a bit naughty and drove almost 5 miles to a lovely wooded area. It was so nice to walk in the countryside without the noise of traffic. The birds were singing and the sunshine through the trees was magical. It definitely lifted my mood.

Felt a bit guilty afterwards because nearly 5 miles isn't staying local.

What's that old time hackneyed phrase - "The best laid plans...." Awoke to find I am travelling to Asia not at the weekend but Thursday, still from Farnborough, coming back when I expected to Heathrow, thankfully.

Anyway, a dinner of grilled chicken with greens galore but a naughty dark chocolate thing and glass of Merlot conspired to deliver 6.2 on the FBG. Still a whole lot better than the 12.3 I was at diagnosis in January this year.

Today, trip prep, brace of conference calls, working out best way to get to Farnborough from Bath as I'm leaving Sid the Stinger in the care of Mrs BRS (shudder) a trip on the trike to get a repeat Metformin and keeping an eye on here...;)

Have a wonderful Monday!

I'm glad...and when you look at the behaviour of many others, you're a paragon of virtue...

Good morning to you...

Morening, Me and me's gave you a hug for the angst you have been caused, but could have given you a funny for your description of yourself and could have given you a winner for the painting, your additional task for today, if you choose to accept it is to pick which sticker you want on your post :-) .

Good morning all. Swipey was bedecked in green and gurned a 5.4 at me - and no it won't do for me. Sunday roast - definitely LC- and a glass of red wine tasted divine and Julie likes us to eat roughly the same meal at the same time once a week. At that level all is/was good. bg next morning is a challenge for me. The wine and steps control the damage (4.8 2 hrs from meal) but there is always a rebound. Could it be a strange version of Somogyi effect? @Krystyna23040 - 5 miles may not seem local but we both know in rural areas that equates to close to any shop for many. Have a good day everyone.

@Krystyna23040 If you were away from people am sure there was no harm done. I think the benefits for your mental health outweigh the short distance you drove. Nearly five miles, pfft, some have to drive that far to a supermarket.
Here, the minute I leave the apartment there are people, sometimes, many people, to try and avoid. Staying local feels far more risky than driving to a quiet place for a walk.

Still not reflecting what us really going on.
Am eating far too many carbs. This has got to stop.
Off to supermarket this morning and planning to look up low carb cake recipes before I go. Will have to be quick on that though as the hordes will be hitting the shops soon.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are pondering the meaning of life when retired during lockdown.

A young wet behind the ears 6.3 this morning on that scheming meter of mystery and misbehaving.

This morning me and me's were missing the discipline that work brought into life, retirement could be sheer hedonism, perhaps it should be. Me and me's have lots to fill our day. If only I had the enthusiasm. Hmmmm koffy needed and probably a swift boot up the posterior.
Koffy made and being administered as for the swift boot Mrs J will see to that I expect.

Well fellow posters, painters and gamers whatever your day throws at you, remember you can always stick two fingers up to life and become a politician ( noooooo things can't be that bad ).
Must go and dress up as a traffic warden and stand outside schools.

Brilliantly angry birds with a tree of dark secrets - do the ravens say “nevermore”?
