What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

good evening all :)

4.1 today

plumber has mostly finished but will leave the hole unfilled until tomorrow just to make sure nothing weeps before he backfills it :)

Car is back from the garage (for now), still has a wheel bearing starting to grumble but they can't do it for a couple of weeks, good for now though ;)

Shopping went ok and we've delivered Mum's share to her and the blue bin has been emptied so it's been a busy day :)

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@gennepher - rest well :)

@dunelm - I like your 'sour grapes' :D interesting composition and the little touches of colour add to it nicely :)

@Mrs T 123 - Stress could definitely be the culprit for the higher BG, it works that way for me anyway :) Hope everything goes well.

@Muddy Cyclist - Lovely, reminds me very much of my visits spent in Tuscany (I'm hoping to get back there sometime :D ) and I like the misty receding distance and I just love your study of the 'Blue Hills', very fine :joyful:

art bit - a sort of hybrid of pen and watercolour

Thank you @geeful and a winner of a day for you; plumbing, car, blue bin and a cold wet and windy landscape. Watch out for boggy bits - fabulous.

Cat keeps telling me to go back to sleep.
Who am to argue, as I feel like Sleeping Beauty (Ancient Old Hag more like...)...
Just so very tired since I got back from the hospital...

So, here is the fairy godfather...

That’s MR Godfather to you. A great bit of art to make one smile - hugs for the tiredness - switch on the electric blanket.

Morning all from a windy Farnborough! Bit of rain, seems dry at the moment though.
5.9 mmol after a red meat dinner - left the chips, despite being sorely tempted. Hid them under a napkin as all self respecting folks do! One glass of red and a fountain of water followed.

Hope all's well out there. Will ping enroute and see what's what before sleeping through the timezones.

Good morning everyone on a wet and blustery start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north.
The wonder wheel of a home made burger topped with an egg and sidled up to a pile of creamy garlic mushrooms came in at 4.8 this am.

Census - completed online. Am I actively seeking work? - must have been included by Pauline Campbell-Jones from League of Gentlemen. New blinds are now all in situ, ready to cut off the world at the drop of a hat (mine is made out of tin foil). Very effective blackout effect - it means that the grandchildren can play at Anderson shelters once they can visit again. Break out the torches and cheese butties. Post blind fitting tidying up session resulted in being stood on a step ladder holding things up like a badly drawn Statue of Liberty. “It’s not as tall as we thought it would be.”

Art - Some grapes and a bit of added purple, and green. Hope everyone has a great day - you can chase your garden furniture in the wind if you get bored. Koffy time.

Time travel Mr Jules Verne, wonderful. Take care and have a comfortable trip.

See I told you yesterday a little sunshine would sweeten things up, yesterday's grapes have ripened very nicely. Good art from you again today.

Enjoy the blackout. :)

Covid effect on economies, travel, jobs can't be underestimated. I'm not the only one flying this morning and I know I'm very lucky to be hitching a ride, but the eery silence even in this rarified atmosphere is incredible.

I've avoided the pastry and croissant buffet and sitting nursing a nice black coffee and glass of water with the nearest fellow traveller 100 metres away...

It's quite the eye opener...

I appreciate it!

Boarding soon it seems.

If anyone's interested, this is the route apparently! travel.jpg
And look, even I don't faint with Google maps !!

Hope you enjoy your trip.
Thanks D. I'm the only passenger, so at least I can't bore anyone else rigid unless one of the crew is listening ;)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen on this spatchcock chicken Thursday.

A 6.5 this morning on that meter that defies understanding.

A rather blustery morning here at Tilehurst Towers and that's just inside, I shall need a strong koffy before I pluck up the courage to inspect my borders and roofs.

Well fellow posters, painters and gamers is it just me and me's that detect a slight probably false glimmer of hope in this covid pandemic?
Moving swiftly on to another subject that seems to be dominating the media. The Piers Morgan / racism / Royalty coverage has induced a world record time in activating the off button while mutterings along the lines of morons can be heard.

Here in Tilehurst Towers we wish you all well and hope your day will be filled with wonder and amazement ie I wonder how I got here and it will be truly amazing if I remember what I came in here for, me and me's day will :-) .

Stay well, stay safe and stay battened down.

You are doing really well avoiding all that high carb food. Hope your trip goes well.

5.8 this morning. Not surprising because steps were zero yesterday (or more accurately 4276) which is so low for me. We didn't take the dogs out yesterday because of the torrential rain so not surprising that steps were low.

Today's dog walk was a little hair raising with winds gusting at 55 miles per hour. Still, at least it wasn't raining.

Can't believe it is Thursday already. The week has flown past so quickly. Today's admin is reconciling the March bank statement. What fun.

Greetings from a wet and windy Hancock county in <insert state of choice> I hope the interview turns out to have been successful @Mrs T 123 and fwiw my bg was impacted for about a fortnight. Safe flight and continued success in carb dodging @BRSBRI. Sleep well @gennepher. More carbs via #hxbgate (probably) = longer sleep - unprecedented 8 hrs. In my case the positive impact of managing T2 by LC on all round health seems to be up for debate. A day with no 2 - just - granddaughter then collecting her brother from school. Now I know why the idea of moving here made some sense once upon a time. Just the 4th choice house due to events of August '19 knocking the gloss off. Hang tough crew.

A rip roaring, bond high beach 7.4...:banghead:

A cancelled walk with daughter & doggie nephew yesterday....rain stopped play.

Thought we might do it today, but anchoring the dog down with panniers full of breeze blocks, so he doesn't get blown off to Paris in the winds, just kills the vibe for him, and the enjoyment for everyone else..so Cancelled again.

A day of never ending painting looms, hallway almost done, walls, ceilings, woodwork all shiny & bright in their 2nd coats, bless.
On to next room.....ho hum, more lockdown joy :bag:

An odd one for the bikers, and others who drive maybe.

First time I've a brood of bikes/scooters to insure.

Rang up insurers for multi bike quote.,. Bearing in mind, London is THE *#@#*@ capital of bike thieves..

One 900cc, & 2x 125cc scooters, £250...result.

As just one scooter was £400** last time I checked. Licence since 1980, back riding full time, all weathers, since 1996, so not my first rodeo

Same quote, with no big 900cc 180 mph beast just 2 mere scooters, tops 70 mph*
(* if downhill AND major tailwind...)
Came in at a wallet walloping £560..:wideyed::woot:

Half a bag, for one years insurance, on 125cc's...aagghh.

Sure I can think of reasons, but none that really match up, ..oh. Well Tel Aviv, as del boy might say ;)

(** Yes, expensive but petrol, road tax of £20 etc, cheaper then tfl, maybe, AND Door to Door. )

Enjoy your days.
All those still grimly hanging on to Terra Firma Rendevous here tomorrow, same time
And well go try find the others :D

And we're away...cruising already on our route down east. Estimating Taipei a little earlier than scheduled. Will never ever fly like this again - my timing was good to hitch the lift. I think I'll prefer Ryanair going forward though, especially a middle seat right up the back.

This is outrageous - those cushions will do your back no good at all and that table!
