One of my daughters, the medic to be, has the chance to buy a second hand Moto Guzzi motorbike. I know nada about those sorts of bikes. Any advice/ views?
It's a 2018 V7 apparently...

Thanks to @dunelm supplying good information
covers a lot I'd say.

i must admit to not knowing much about Moto Guzzi, apart from always admiring the le mans .

so i posted my check list of what i do web wise..

so she has the option.to buy....nice condition & good price.?
https://www.thebikemarket.co.uk/reviews/moto-guzzi-v7iii-2017
a little background, and spec, and range of prices

I always like to hear owners reviews.
MCN lost me a few years back, but the website still gets a look
https://www.motorcyclenews.com/bike-reviews/moto-guzzi/v7-stone/2014/

owned by Piaggio so quality improved tremendously form what i remember of Italian exotica
Shocks seems a common complaint.
https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/v7-iii-suspension-thread.17726/

and i always hunt down a forum, many an issue highlighted before buying or sadly, more likely after buying.
for a little comfort she might like the reliability vote of confidence here

and a note of caution.
never having ridden one i can't say how true this is,
but it might be wise to look out for it, before being taken by surprise.

sure daughters a decent rider and use due diligence anyway.

Tell her good luck.
slightly envious.

Thanks! I will pass it on. She apparently was also thinking about a Piaggio 3 wheeler thing - used to be called the Francois Hollande taxi, where he picked up his baguette following affairs of the heart before heading home on the back of the bike...

A car is deemed too sensible for her

@dunelm she says thank you. Her current ride is a third hand Honda of some vintage...

good evening all :)

4.6 today

shopping day today so that took up a good bit of the morning :) the bin men have been and it's finally stopped raining ;)

New case for my phone arrived today and it's now gone into the charity shop donations box, I fitted the case and it activates the touch screen every time it's moved :banghead: I've found myself looking at a load of screens and menus I've never seen before, hopefully I removed it before it's changed too many of my options without my noticing :hilarious:

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@BRSBRI - glad you're back safely and Many Happy Returns for tomorrow :)

@dunelm - love it, the trees on the crag in the foreground and the details round the base add to the strong perspective :)
that's a lovely photo too :joyful:

@gennepher - gel prints, very fine results (runs off to google gel prints ;) )

@jjraak - roadworks :sorry: not to mention diversions.

@Muddy Cyclist - sounds like you had a great ride, I'd be proper powfagged ;) produced some great photos though and I look forward to the sketches :)

@lindisfel - lots of rain here today so my prime sighting was a heron fishing in the drainage canals near mum's :)

@ianpspurs - thanks ianp I look forward to the protein review, I might try making hot chocolate with my whey protein :)

interesting article link too and chimes with my own preference for more protein rather than fat in my diet balance.

art bit
this was done from a photo I saw on the net. I was quite pleased with the way the windows turned out but I overworked the sea I think.

Great painting. And thank you. The bones are creaking this Thursday!

Best wishes for a Happy Birthday tomorrow
Thank you. My birthday greeting so far was Gerald the cat biting my big toe. I felt it, no neuropathy ;)

Good morning from the house of Arthur and Gerald.

After my marathon journey home I slept like a baby. Didn't stir.

After a dinner of chicken, salad and a pot of Greek yoghurt my FBG this Thursday was 6.9mmol - perhaps my return to what passes as normal will help lower it.

Arthur and I have gone for a walk via as many lamp posts Bath has, or so it seemed, got a copy of the Guardian, a coffee which I spilled down my jumper and it's good to be home.

Not working very much today, will say hello properly to matte blue Felix Formentor and reacquaint myself with the 4 week old ceramic grey Sid the Stinger I hardly know.

Birthday boy is off to Aldi to do the shop and dinner tonight is steak and all the diabetic trimmings I'm told.

My next trip is confirmed on email by the bosses who shall be obeyed; no swanky biz jets, no quarantine (or so it seems at the moment) but it's good to be back home for a few weeks before heading off for 9-10 days west.

Breakfast is my standard omelette and Serrano ham, then it's off on supermarket brawling before examining my honey do dis n dat list I also need to go to the municipal tip. Sigh - where's Taipei when you need it?

Thanks for sharing my travels and also thank you for the birthday wishes. Much appreciated

Thank you, ride was good, weather really helped, 20 degrees.

I like the view through your well drawn window. I can see how you think the sea may be o reworked but the stone work, old painted wood and glass effects are masterfully painted. A cottage I would enjoy staying in.

Thank you @geefull, I appreciate your comments. Interesting composition from you here. The blue on the windows reminds me of the Village of Talmont-sur-Gironde where every door and shutter is blue. The picture seems to be saying to me, “yes, we are staying at home, but look at the view.”

@BRSBRI Happy Burthday. :)
Thank you! Much appreciated.

In coming years, I think we should all do this...Love to do it in Aldi in a mo, but will just jostle them out my way instead using the elbow social distancing technique! 356fecfa8ec63f184ba1e232f5abba5e.jpg

Beautiful. Sigh.

Good Morning and 6.6 for me today. :banghead: All that exercise yesterday seemingly did little to help my BG Numbers. I did have more carbs yesterday as I eat one cheese scone Mrs MC had made before she froze them for our daughter to take away Saturday, but surely not enough to cause 6.6?

Have to trim the edge of neighbours lawn this morning as I didn't manage to finish it yesterday. She side tracked me into trying to start her car, I have no idea why as she is not going to be driving for a very long time, the stroke she had, which is why she is needing neighbours help, left her in need of lots of physio.

Cold day, shock to system, shorts going back in wardrobe. :)

Keep safe be bold.

That's very kind of you to help out like that. Sure your neighbour will appreciate it very much.
