Just a quick one. Since i have started managing my BGs, my BP went from 140s/90s to 117/75 range. However, they day i eat outside particularly food cooked in vegetable oils or even small amount of bread, the next day i notice my BP creeping to 128/85. Does such foods affect BP this fast within a matter of hours? I don't see these fluctuations with salt. What are your observations. My target is to keep below 120. Thanks for reading and any help.

My doc told me to measure at the same time everyday, first thing when I wake. I guess to track under the same consistent conditions. I’m sure my BP is all over the place during the day, mood, stress, meals, exercise etc.

Hi @LaoDan that makes sense. Probably i need to stick to a fixed time to understand the readings better. I use my BP readings and of course my BG readings as a measure of how my metabolic health is working. So any changes gives me an alarm that something somewhere is not right. for BGs, its easy to find a culprit (normally the carbs) but for BP, i am unsure if its a lot of pickles or the low quality vegetable oil in a restaurant, or the exercise stress maybe that is why i am keen to understand how other people see their BP readings change with the environmental factors. Now the day before my BP was 128/85, I had a strenuous 10 mile Thames walk with wet feet :) not sure if that can contribute as well?

My wife monitors her blood pressure so I decided that whenever she checks hers I will do mine and I have discovered that if she is high mine will be also be higher although mine is nearly always in the normal range and she is in the stage 1 range , Makes me wonder if general air pressure might play a part .

I know my doc was interested in my heart rate. I was on medication, but doc pulled it after I lost weight. I still print out two weeks worth of data from my Apple Watch before my visits.
