just had my results of my cpeptide and it is 584 i have no idea what this means and nothing from my consultant can anyone help please
You consultant will contact you. In the meantime, was it fasting or did you have Lucozade or a sugary drink - stimulated? Are the units pmol/L? What was your blood sugar - it can't be interpreted alone? How long have you had diabetes for?just had my results of my cpeptide and it is 584 i have no idea what this means and nothing from my consultant can anyone help please

When did you start taking insulin? You are still producing a lot of insulin (>250 pmol/L)sorry yes it was pmol and no lucozade or sugary drink and my blood sugars were 12.1 11 years diabetic

Here are the cut-offs for the c-peptide.

Talk to your consultant, but your result would support a type 2 diagnosis (insulin required after 5 years for type 1/LADA). And you are still producing insulin after 11 years.about 3 years ago
when i saw him a few weeks ago he said there was no way i was type 2 but put me down as a 1.5 he has upped my basal insulin from 16 units twice a day to 32 units twice a day to get me into the target range of 4-8 which im still not in and took me off my fast acting for the time beingTalk to your consultant, but your result would support a type 2 diagnosis (insulin required after 5 years for type 1/LADA). Have a look at the link I posted. The information is all there. The cut off is 3 to 5 years. A lot of type 2's require insulin eventually. It doesn't make them type 1's. Get your consultant to explain the link to you.when i saw him a few weeks ago he said there was no way i was type 2 but put me down as a 1.5 he has upped my basal insulin from 16 units twice a day to 32 units twice a day to get me into the target range of 4-8 which im still not in and took me off my fast acting for the time being
