You consultant will contact you. In the meantime, was it fasting or did you have Lucozade or a sugary drink - stimulated? Are the units pmol/L? What was your blood sugar - it can't be interpreted alone? How long have you had diabetes for?

Talk to your consultant, but your result would support a type 2 diagnosis (insulin required after 5 years for type 1/LADA). And you are still producing insulin after 11 years.

when i saw him a few weeks ago he said there was no way i was type 2 but put me down as a 1.5 he has upped my basal insulin from 16 units twice a day to 32 units twice a day to get me into the target range of 4-8 which im still not in and took me off my fast acting for the time being

Have a look at the link I posted. The information is all there. The cut off is 3 to 5 years. A lot of type 2's require insulin eventually. It doesn't make them type 1's. Get your consultant to explain the link to you.
