Well, it's contextual. If you have infrequent or no Lows, then that's great. If not, it's maybe too Low.
Is your consultant happy with this?
Mine is 43 and I’ve been told too low and to not have such strict control.
I’m currently really struggling as I was doing well and keeping in range since consultation I feel much more out of control and am definitely having more highs….. but not as many lows (which is what he was unhappy about.
I'm not a Doctor, obviously, but if you had fewer hypos and a higher HBA1C I think almost any Diabetes Specialist would consider that the sweet spot. Easier said than done obviously, but perhaps something to aim for?I'm low carb so I'm also low insulin. However I do still get hypos, maybe 3 or 4 times a week
My last test was 30 hba1c. I wasn't really told if it was good or bad xx
Well done you. I'm low carb too. My last was 34 and I'm not hypoing often - just a couple a month. When are your 3 to 4 happening? Is there a pattern? For example, for me I have to be wary of exercise after lunch. I ditched the Libre for a Dexcom which helps enormously too - it's just so much more accurate. I'm not sure what you're calling a hypo. I call anything below 3.5 mmo/l.I'm low carb so I'm also low insulin. However I do still get hypos, maybe 3 or 4 times a week

Well done you. I take 4 units of Levemir in the morning and 4 at night (a split dose) and 6 to 8 units of Fiasp over lunch and dinner. I try to keep my carbs below 30 grams but have to dose for protein. I never eat breakfast either.Well I dont think I could manage that. Brilliant result that 34! Would you mind telling me what your insulin/carb ratio is? My HbA1c is always around 46/47, and generally I have 5 units Levemir every morning, 1 unit Novorapid to deal with Dawn Phenomenon, 1 unit for lunch, and 1 for dinner. I do not have breakfast at all. I sometimes have a couple of hot drinks each day, maybe one tea, one coffee. (each with cows milk). Other drinks are just carbonated or spring still water. Meals are low carb with protein--- like chicken or fish, or egg.
That's fantastic really. I got diagnosed back in April and was 77! Today I was 44, which I was told is only 2 units above normal. I packed in the Metformin a while back and decided to diet control if I could. So far so good I was told today.

I haven't had one in a month I mainly cause them as waiting to learn carbs I had my first one in a month xGosh, that is VERY impressive!
Again, as long as you are not having a lot of hypos with that number?
I'm pretty new to this, I was only diagnosed in April, but I've never had a hypo that I know of. Is this normal or is it something I can expect in the future?I haven't had one in a month I mainly cause them as waiting to learn carbs I had my first one in a month x
I hypo with exercise at a similar time 2 to 4 pm, but have cut back on my fast-acting with lunch and run a little higher than usual which avoids hypos. My blood sugars do come down after the exercise. You could try snacking on blueberries or small slices of apple at this time to avoid them too.Usually when I'm running around at work. I start work at 4pm too so it's an awkward time in the day we'll after lunch
I don't know much about the dexcom. I've heard it's better but the NHS supply the libre for me
