Hi, team.
Been having a read through and it is nice (sort of) to see so many people who have similar issues.
I am a very data driven person so here goes some information!
32 years old
79kg
5ft 6
I used to train a lot, I mean I weightlifting and training from 13 - 24 then I got married, kids which proceeded with becoming a bit fat and bald!
Over the years I would get hypo attacks, but I would go from eating thousands of calories a day to less and it was not very often.
Funnily enough what seems to trigger them would be more the weather, when I was a refrigeration engineer if I would be defrosting a freezer in -20 I would go hypo when I stepped back out into the warm.
The last couple of years were particular stressful, changing jobs young family trying to buy a home and 2019 culminated in a lot of panic attacks and stress episodes.
This seemed to trigger me going hypo more often. Sometimes 2 x 3x a week.
I am what my wife would call a bat sh*t crazy hypochondriac so I log most things.
I do feel my hypos are more common at times of high stress but I am also trying to find a pattern.
For example, my 10am snack would be oats and a banana (big carb dump no wonder I would be going hypo by like 1.)
My blood sugar readings:
First thing in the morning: usually around 5.2
When feeling hypo: 3.0 - 3.3
After eating usually the highest I spike to is around 8.
Relatively speaking my sugar levels seem pretty good.
This year alone I had a CT scan on my brain, no tumours etc there (this was for pulsatile tinnitus)
CT scan on my kidneys - Nothing shown (this was possibly a kidney stone)
Most recently an abdominal scan (liver, kidneys, pancreas, gall blader etc) - that was a month ago and heard nothing back so seems fine.
I would not say it for 100% but I think that almost rules me out for any obvious tumours etc.
Once a year I fast for 30 days. In the summer this was like 16 - 17 hours of fasting. Never really had an issue with blood sugar, except last year or the year before one day I felt my blood sugar low the rest was fine.
I did notice my hypos seems to be around 12 - 1pm. My go - to breakfast for a while has been two eggs and two wholemeal toast.
From the mid 2019 - June 2021 I was a vegetarian. Started eating meat again since.
My HBA1c is was 30 last year.
I have a feeling my stress throws me out of whack and possibly RH. But not too sure.
My HDL level was 0.95 and my LDL was 2.55 last year, also. My FSH was slightly low at 1.1
I realise this is just a big dump of information but it feels nice to get it out there to other people struggling.
Reading some of these stories though my issues are not near as bad!
