Yes. I had a number of "diabetic symptoms" while not being officially diabetic. List is on my blog. Thing is, there's nothing magic about having an HbA1c reading of 49: it's just the level the medics agreed on. Doesn't mean that you won't have symptoms, caused by your blood sugar levels, at levels below 49. In fact 49 was chosen specifically because retinopathy is rare, but not unknown, at lower levels.My doctor thinks I may have diabetic neuropathy. For months my untreated pre diabetes has apparently caused pain in my back and now numbness in my hands. Has anyone else had experience of this ? Thanks, Nick.
Yes, but a knee injury complicates the picture; maybe both crush injury trauma AND neuropathy. I think one of my prescribed drugz started around the same time was not carefully read by one of my drs. for adverse effect-- neuropathy not recommended for diabetics, but that was only approx. 6 months ago.
