Assuming you're T2 or pre-diabetic, the blog catinahat linked above will keep you right: I was 16 stone, 5'10", so quite similar. I got my weight and blood sugars right down by cutting carbs. I'm pretty confident you will also be able to make big improvements if you cut carbs as well.Hi newly Diagnosed I’m Mike age 58 17stone 5ft 10 bMi says obese

You are pretty much exactly where I was in December 2019. You might want to have a look at my blog. Low carb works really well for me and I was back in normal blood range in 3-4 months. Others have made much bigger reductions just as quickly. Weight continues to fall, more than 20 kilo off now. With a bit of luck, you can do the same. You won't be hungry and you will feel a lot better.Hi newly Diagnosed I’m Mike age 58 17stone 5ft 10 bMi says obese

Put simply, the low carb lifestyle is no potatoes, pasta, rice, flour (bread/pastry), sugar. For me it's almost no fruit as well. It is not a one-off diet - I expect to be living this way indefinitely.
And - forget the standard "healthy eating advice" you will get from the health service, your family and friends, and the media.
best of luck, this can be a really helpful place.
