And, in better news, the power pack decided to come out of its sulk and charged up yesterday evening. Mmm....

So, that long walk day is on the cards for today instead as soon as I've packed my lunch and replenished the hypos supplies box.

I have a trip to Luxembourg soon. Last time I was there it was before I got t1 diagnosis and we went to a nice 'all you can eat' Sushi place with a 'sushi train' type service. I've eaten everything, I had a meter high empty plate tower in front of me :D... The cook was aware of our enjoyment so prepared all sorts of things for us. I love sushi and there are no sushi trains where I live, so I'm thinking maybe I do this again somehow... Extra insulin and some walking around town should keep the bloody glucose down... :angelic:

Back today to say how sad it is to hear that Paul has died. He was a beam of cheer in the T1 world, he’ll be much missed!

I hope the sun helps, Karen, as you begin the new phase of your life. Hugs. Lots of virtual hugs.

Meeting in person with the loud ladies earlier this month was glorious. I’ve sooooo missed proper contact with others. It was also glorious to have a brief meeting, and a hug, with the lovely diabetes specialist nurse who bounced into the room where I was having prep tests for the annual review phone appointment.

This pandemic stinks. Maybe when we’ve all had the max number of jabs and have all had ‘mild’ cases we will, like younger daughter, be able to test positive for a mere one day and throw it off like a winter jumper when spring arrives. Living in hope. Btw, when husband, who’s 75, went for a second booster, he asked if I could have one too. (I’m ‘only’ 72). The hub doc was consulted and she said yes. Hooray. Now four times jabbed. Will it be sufficient protection? Time will tell.

Have a good day everyone.

Went to a Diabetes appointment today with my Nurse who decided to do an updated HbA1c. It has been just over 4 months since I started Hybrid/Closed Looping so this one I felt would be a very accurate reading of how well it is is working for me. The result was 43/6.1%!! :)

Lovely to hear from you @karen8967 Glad you've got good support around you.

In exciting news, the new phone is ordered and with the company for delivery. In less good news, I fear it's going to be a parcel delivery drama. Apparently, they need a photo ID to hand it over, and it will only be delivered within a pretty tight set of hours Monday - Friday. I know this because I tried to book a 4.00 - 5.00 p.m. slot and it wouldn't let me. (Though, it might let me on the day of delivery, after 11.00 a.m., according to an e-mail message)

And, of course, I will be back at work next week. The website is somewhat.... confusing. Some bits of it sternly say it won't be left anywhere else and other bits suggest it will be dropped off at the nearest pick-up point. Which is a local-ish shop I prefer not to use. Oh well, let's see what happens!

Why couldn't the phone could not have decided to edge towards giving up on me earlier in the week when I'd be around to receive a parcel under the strict set of instructions, I have no idea!!

@hh1 Well.... apparently, it's out for delivery today and I should get it this afternoon. Which scuppers today's original plans, but is one heck of a lot better than the alternatives!

So many parcel delivery options really don't work for full-time workers who live alone and who don't own a car. And with a workplace policy of no personal parcels delivered. (It got...tricky!)

Especially with the tone from the website about "greenest options for delivery" (yes, I get that it's better on so many levels for your company's green credentials. And fuel bill at the moment.) and "Our drivers work to a tight schedule" (Yes, I know that. It's their excuse for not reading new Highway Code priorities for pedestrians at junctions and attempting to run me over when I've already started crossing the road. 4 different drivers from this company so far... ).

Fingers crossed! Let us know if it arrives...

I am in total shock. The only drama was it was very fiddly to fit the sim card and SD card with all my photos on. Even fitting the screen protector went like a dream...

The parcel arrived within a minute of the hour time slot starting. The delivery soul did not want to see any ID (my driving license was in my pocket all ready to brandish) or need a signature. So, quite why all the dramas in the instructions are beyond me.

And, it's now all up and running with everything transferred over safely, bar a note or two which I can live without. Oh, and there isn't a radio app built-in as with the old phone, so I'm still pondering that. It may be just a case of downloading the apps for the two stations I listen to regularly.

Not only that, but I spent some Christmas vouchers yesterday as well, and the useful crossbody bags I like have also been slightly upgraded and as I now have 3 I will be able to wash them more regularly as well. I'm definitely all retail therapy-ed out. (And I hate shopping at the best of times!)

Don't you just love it when the universe starts to turn in the right direction for a change! Good news, thanks for the update :)

Hello, everyone. I'm going to visit my parents today. There will be a lot of high-carb food. Very difficult for me. Easter is important for them and I can't refuse either a visit or a sweet meal. I hope my blood sugar won't be too high.
Wish me luck.

Had a frustrating past month trying to renew my driver's license, I was given a 2-year license when I passed so it was due for renewal recently (expired 17th April), couldn't renew online due to having Epilepsy as well. Sent off my renewal paperwork over a month ago, and rang the DVLA this week only for them to tell me they can't find the paperwork and I'll have to send it again o_O. Praying I get longer than 2 years this time because good god I can't be going through this again in 2 years' time
