Hi, I used to have a cup of Options Belgian hot chocolate at bedtime. Sadly it contains too much sugar so I've given it up but peppermint tea doesn't cut it. Any suggestions welcome, please.

You could do a google search for keto hot chocolate recipe and see if it comes up with something nice?

I used to make cocoa the old fashioned way (mix cocoa powder with small cold milk. Heat mugful of milk, stir coca mix in, stir again) but add a sweetener or 2.
Trying to minimise the sweetners now though so don't have it as often
I have done this without sweetener. Watch the cocoa, some have sugar in. One I used to buy doesn't. Green and Blacks Organic. Made up with I presume milk it does.

And another thing I used o eat loads of sugar free polo mints.since doing low carb I just happened to look at the pkt.
98.4 carbs per 100 grams because of the Sorbitol.

So we must look at the carbs in all artificial sweeteners really
Yes, but it can be a bit of a minefield. :banghead::banghead: Many sweeteners are actually high in carbs, but sometimes those carbs are not digestible so they may have little or no impact on glucose levels, which means we need to do some careful checking! Two that I use regularly and would recommend are stevia and erythritol.

I have a single malt whisky before bed.

Try lemon and ginger tea. That can be very warming and comforting. Peppermint tea doesnt cut it for me any time of day.

I've picked up Asda's own brand. No sugar. Carbs 8.7 of which 0.5 are from sugar.

Cocoa powder with boiled water, liquid stevia drops and either unsweetened almond or hazelnut "milk", or full fat cream.

Thank you. I'ver tried this over a fortnight and it works for me. By accident I took a sip of my wife's Option chocolate last night and -- eeeewwww! -- too sweet!

I like Novus Wild Encounter herbal tea bags at bed time.

They contain Hibiscus flowers, apples pieces, rose hips, elderberries, strawberry pieces, passionfruit pieces, sunflower blossoms, rose petals, blue corn flowers, fruit flavours.
