Luckily you managed to get your knee replacement. I was diagnosed prior so now still waiting. Hopefully new year.
I was 58 then managed to get it down to 56. Having a new blood test on Tuesday.
Hoping the numbers are down.
Try not to panic or be too scared.
Over 48 means you are Diabetic. The idea is that through diet you can get those numbers down. Also get yourself a testing kit. I test early morning, before meals and 2 hours after. That gives you an idea of what is happening, and what response you are having to carbohydrates.
Basically cut out carbs as much as you can. I have weight to lose so allow 20-30 grams a day. You may be able to have more.
Best of Luck. There is loads of information on this site so keep reading.

No need to worry @Elainec1963 - you are not far into diabetic numbers so simply reducing the amount of carbs you eat ought to do the trick.
I don't mean swapping to brown or wholemeal, or changing from ordinary potatoes to sweet ones, which are common errors.
We don't need to eat carbohydrate at all, but they are good for adding texture flavour and variety to meals.
