Hi everyone thought id give u a update as not posted here in ages.

Since my diagnosis in june 2019 my levels still been very good especially my yearly Hba1c still good from 72, 48, 47, 48, 49 and last year 53.
Got blood test on Monday as they said my pancreas starting to produce small amounts of insulin so they got to see what version i mite have possible MODY will let you all know how i get on.

Absolutely i try hard to look after myself. Never missed insulin times. Always go to appointments. Its horrible when i see other diabetics there feet missing or leg removed. Guess they didnt look after themselves

Or they had to cope with diabetes at a time when it wasn’t so “easy” to get help from technology or suitable dietary education?

Indeed, home glucose meters didnt even exist when I was diagnosed, and CGM's are only very very recent

Yep. Or they don't have a helpful and supportive healthcare team.

Or they were carers with such a heavy amount to do for someone else, without any help, that they were simply too exhausted to look after themselves etc, etc.

We don't always know why people have ended up losing a limb, there are many reasons for it.
