What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

FBG 8.5. That was at 4 am, so late enough to be taken as an FBG Up to 10.9 by breakfast. Egg mayo for breakfast but still hungry so have made some cheese crisps to fill a bit more space. Found a really venerable piece of cheese in the cheese box - well wrapped, I'm glad to say. It was a piece of Mull island cheese that Neil bought for me some time ago and having tasted it, I put it away. Haven't yet unwrapped it but curiosity tells me to cut off all the mould and see what is there underneath. But I think I may just dump the whole lot into the bin, plastic and all. I know I should separate them out, but am a bit squeamish.

Fbg 6.6

Wildlife Camera...
Two ginger tom cats...

Unfortunately the first clip finished before they had finished yowling (my trail camera is set for two minute clips which is usually enough), but not for this one. The last few seconds is the next clip, which started a few seconds later. And you see the newcomer ginger tom sitting down, and GhostCat1 walking away.

So, who won the yowling match ?

Creative is another digital painting of a sheep.
There are 3 brushstrokes I use in Procreate.
First in Painting, I use Flat Brush.
Second in Inking, I use Syrup and Thylacine.

Oh dear. I woke up at 3:30 am to Midnight, obviously having leapt from the floor on to my chest...

Unusual.

So, I decided I needed a cuppa tea.

I go into the front room, only to come face to face with that magnificent massive handsome ginger cat, with amazing striking markings, who the other day who was sunbathing in my garden, and who is also on the video above. And his ginger colouring is so vivid that it literally shines.

I look at Midnight who is sitting beside me looking into my eyes. "Do you like my new friend," he seems to say?

The strange ginger cat was frozen in fear of me. Then he suddenly bolts into the back of the bungalow. When I catch up with him he's trying to get through the closed glass window and the closed glass doors. He is hanging on to the other side of my curtains, the downward shreds in my curtains getting longer and longer with his sheer weight. I cannot get to the key in case he accidentally attacks me.

I say "It's okay, it's okay..."

He pops his head round the curtain, and looks at me, and I do the slow blink to say I'm a friend. He starts to do the slow blink back at me, and then it is like his brain has kicked into gear and he saying to himself, what on earth am I doing with this strange lady, and he went into his complete headless chicken routine again..... he can climb walls, he can climb up to the ceiling , but no magic door opens to let him out. He is intensely powerful, nearly knocking me over as he tries to flee past me.

I cannot get him to go to the kitchen catflap again, and in desperation, I open all the doors in the bungalow, praying the fox or the badger doesn't come in.

Finally that ginger cat is gone.

All the while this was going on, Midnight was totally laid back, sitting calmly on the floor looking at me. He was not fazed in the least with this stranger ginger tom in my bungalow.

My art study now looks like a demolition crew just attacked it. And I have a new design in curtains...

Have your best day...

Are you doing semaphore with sheep's ears?:)

It's in the compost bin. I did unwrap it and cut the outside off to see how far in the mould had got - right through the middle so I cut it into smaller bits and put it in the bin. More easily digested by the compost than one large lump.

I know someone who got old mouldy round cheeses from a local Cumbrian cheese farm and fed them to wild birds. He reckoned the mould was harmless.

I've never heard of FODMAP, but it looks interesting. I am supposed to be seeing the dietician sometime soon and will ask her about that. I am familiar with the idea of elimination diets and have used them, but never to the extent of getting rid of most foods and then reintroducing them - it's usually been just one at a time which, of course, can lead to some degree of an irritant sheltering behid some other foodstuff.
It's seems to be used for irritable bowel.
Helen was doing it for a time so is my friend from Lincoln. But I didn't think it was particularly low carb.

Mmmm - didn't think of that, but not sure mould would be good for the birds, or cats (they might eat it if the birds refused). Compost will happily eat it though.

@gennepher hug for the feline rave. Midnight needs his social media access stopped. Thanks for another splendid sheep. @dunelm a 70% reduction in books is good. The colour makes that structure very special indeed. @Annb JKP tried FODMAP for her IBS the verdict was that it was useless for her but many do find it helpful. As @lindisfel implies it was very much not LC compatible.

I don't think he would like that very much.....

Thank you for the sheep compliment....

Fbg this morning was 6.1 that was ok rest of day has been awful overestimated my capabilities drove to Nottingham City Hospital for appointment but underestimated the amount of walking required when it came to leaving the hospital was in so much pain could hardly make it back to the car Melody had to lift my legs back into the car for me then had to sit in car park for 30 minutes til pain subsided enough to drive had to drive in short stages back home took hours just to cover the 11 miles home. Been in bed since still hurting now.
Out come of appointment not that great either seems I have Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis general consensus more than likely caused or made worse by Covid.

Extra hugs for the amount of walking you had to do @JohnEGreen

So sorry that the hospital visit caused you so much pain. It seems to be quite common that ridiculous distances are required for patients to walk to get themselves into hospitals, causing distress and pain. I don't know what the solution is but someone should really put some effort into finding one. It seems quite heartless not to consider the difficulties that patients have to face. Maybe an electric NHS "taxi" should be made available for those who need it, if parking spaces can't be provided nearer the hospital entrance.

Hope you manage to recover quickly from that ordeal. Hope as well that your lungs recover in time and allow you to feel more comfortable. My own lungs have recovered a fair bit and most days and nights I am pretty reasonable now, although I do have the odd blip. I hope yours can do the same.

BG 12.9. Tut tut. Rose to 13.0 and then dropped again. Not taking that as FBG because it was only 2.45 am (bed about 11.45 and an uncomfortable 3 hours later, forced to get up). Shortly to have insulin and breakfast - that'll bring it down a bit. Just having my 3rd cup of tea but will have to hustle around a bit - it's floor cleaning day today. Bedroom is ready, as are bathrooms. Washing machine on with stripped bedding - first wash of clothes in the tumble dryer (expensive way to dry washing, but I have no other way). Just taking a break to give my legs and back a rest. Better get on though. Once it's all ready, I can just sit and wait.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentleman, other genders excluded unless you identify as a fungi.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.1

Today is spoken for, so is lunch, hopefully with friends after a gentle walk. This afternoon will be nap time then plinky plonky or more likely I shall be taken to a supermarket and deposited in the koffy shop before I start filling other shoppers trollies who Mrs J wants to converse with.

Smart meter update.
I can and do wander around Tilehurst Towers switching equipment on and off with some sort idea of how much said equipment is stealing from my wallet, one of my sons has an electric car, a Nissan tree trunk or something like that and when he charges it up at his home his smart meter is in the grim looking red area. I am beginning to think these electric cars are not so environmentally friendly, bring back the bicycle I say.

Stay safe all, remember it’s beginning to feel like spring is in the air, yep farmer Giles is muck spreading again……

Sorry to read that you are hurting so bad and have been diagnosed with such a debilitating illness.
