What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Here I have a bit of a dilemma.
Trying Libre. This morning it read 9.3!! A quick check with two different meters and strips from different batches gave 6.1 and 6.0.
Throughout the day Libre showed 8s, meters 5s. Also ketostix showing nicely into ketosis. Binned Libre, as it was hurting arm and getting in the way.Never again. Going to stick to finger stabbing. With a bit of sulking thrown in for good measure.

Although I only use libre infrequently, I've never had one hurt, that sounds wrong to me. I had one that was mildly uncomfortable for the first day and I learned after that to put them where I have a thicker covering of fat/muscle. The higher reading, were they in the first 24-48 hours? I've learnt not to activate it until its been in situ at least 24 hours while my body adjusts.
Maybe contact Abbott and say it fell off, they'll send another for free

Sounds like you’ve resolved your dilemma!

I’m on my 3rd Libre - the first didn’t work, but the second was useful, so I’ve gone for another in the run up to my 6 month check & bloods etc. This one is definitely more erratic than the other. I think choosing the right spot to stick it is also important, this one keeps catching on short sleeves, which makes me feel it more.

I’ve persisted with it because it offers value to me on the patterns it reveals, particularly on specific foods. I’m trying to ignore the fact the actual numbers are a bit misleading and focus on the time in range and what causes the BG to go up sharply or stay up. It’s informative & I do get a bit obsessive with scanning the sensor, simply because I can. But it’s not essential and I’ll be glad to see the back of it in another week or so.

Morning all. Beautiful day again.Makes you feel glad to be alive! Well, last night 8.4. This morning 8.3. It was my cheat day yesterday (Pensioners lunch) and my problem is I feel I can eat anything as if I'm on holiday. Will have to get out of that mindset, it's not doing me any good! :banghead: Have a good day folks. :joyful:
A couple of places we go to lunch with our seniors group I have had a talk with the staff to have a meal for me. I am vegan and eat low carb so usually they will do a nice salad or vegetables for me.

Another warm and beautiful morning here. 7.0 on the finger prick after messing around the kitchen for 20 mins making some tea, 6.5 from Libre at the same time.

The Libre numbers are quite volatile on a minute by minute basis, it was 7.7 when I got out of bed. But yesterday it never went beyond 8 all day and last night it dropped to 5.3 before bed.

Thank you for commenting. I don't feel I can ask because they are all volunteers and also the meal is quite cheap (£4 for 3 courses plus tea or coffee). I'm not sure they would be able to cater differently for one. Also, it's my mindset, I have to stick to low carb the rest of the day and I don't, so it's more my fault than the lunch.
