What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

….and creeping up, again - 6.6 this morning.

I could attribute it to Fridays work stress, the feline and his ulcerated eye (he’s now on gabapentin & antibiotics ) or having to work on my days off, but it seems completely random in relation to the food consumption. Haven’t had time for much exercise this week though, so maybe a swim later.

Have a good Caterday all.

Hello and welcome. Glad you could join us. 3.3 seems quite low for a type 2, are you ok with numbers like that?

EDITED TO ADD: I note that you have answered my question on another thread, - sounds like you have put diabetes in its place. Well done! Hope you next A1c reflects all your good effort.

9.8 this morning . Was 12 yesterday and I’m trying to cut carbs gently. I had 2 tiny baby potatoes in my omelette today that sort of thing. I have been on metformin for 4 days and have a headache and feel like i have no energy. I feel quite low after 4 days of diarrhoea and being expected to shop and cook and organise everything as normal. Feeling grumpy and sorry for myself.
I have started taking probiotics and digestive enzymes to see if that will help with the bowels.

You’re definitely allowed - definitely. I’m on Slow Release (SR) Metformin, which helps tremendously in reducing icky dicky tummy.

I’m guessing you’re new to this Forum? If you are, welcome aboard and do keep posting, all tummies welcomed. ;)

Thank you, yes i am a newbie. 5 5 days into metformin so i will ask for SR on Monday. I suppose i am being really impatient and panicking a little as i am off work not getting paid because i was off with breast cancer for a year. All the treatments gave me fatigue and then I discover I have t2 and that also causes fatigue. I hoped i would just feel better as soon as i started treatment. I am also due to go on holiday to turkey in 2 weeks and hoping i am a little less antisocial before i go.

So interestingly I have had a couple of low numbers (for me) over the past few days, each time I have woken up much earlier than usual before 6:00 am. Got up around 8:00 today which seems to be more the normal time for me now and bloods were 5.8. Wonder if I can achieve lower results if I adjust my rising time and maybe go to bed earlier? I usually go to bed around 12:00 midnight Does it actually matter? - Will my body and DP adapt to the different times? Who can say? Just musing. ;)
I am wondering the same regarding shifting sleep time. I am a bit of a night owl, so perhaps need to go to sleep earlier, too. I tend to sleep really soundly when I go to bed after midnight, though. Less so if earlier.

Oops, almost forgot, 6.4 this morning, and low fives rest of the day.

And up…..FBG 6.9 this morning.

Actually quite reasonable considering I went to a dinner party and we didn’t eat until gone 9pm, which is very late for me. And the food wasn’t very diabetic friendly. Following which I went to pick a friend up from a wedding reception at midnight, as he’d missed the last bus home.
