What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning All. 7.6 this morning, don’t like it. @Mikekee I have awful Dawn Phenominum in the 7s but I keep the rest of the day on point with food etc and to my amazement I am still outside Diabetic A1c a few weeks ago. I used to be 5s in the morning then 6s and now mainly 7s. Take heart and keep the rest of the day tight. Happy Saturday everyone. @Lainie71 so glad you seem to be improving that must have been some fall

FBG 5.8 this morning. That's ok! Cold has come out and I'm feeling really grotty. Slept most of the morning off and on.
Meeting with DN went well, :) Don't think I've seen this DN before she has the same first name as the person I saw last year but physically looked very different plus she had a totally different attitude to the previous DN. Much more engaged and laid back. Bloods are a couple of points up but thought they might be higher considering some of the blood results I was seeing a few weeks ago. I thought the rise might be pointed out but DN was just so excited that she had met someone whose bloods were in remission for so long that she could not stop congratulating me. She said she could count on one hand the number of people she had seen who were able to get their bloods under control and to do it alone was really impressive. She also said most of her patients who had been diabetic this long, would likely be on insulin by now. That heartened me as its been really hard for me this year what with lack of motivation, strange blood results for no reason, anxiety, inflammation, etc. so to have all the effort I have put in being acknowledged and congratulated, was a real encouragement. Told her I ate low carb and mentioned the NHS Low carb program but didn't push it, I have flogged that dead horse many times in the past and it always falls on deaf ears. Maybe there is change in the air, I do hope so but my negative self says don't hold your breath.

Cholesterol was the one thing she commented on as a negative, bit it is usually the giant in the room so no surprise there, its always high, although actually it was a little lower this time than on previous occasions. She did ask if anyone had mentioned statins. I said yes - that I had thought about them, but had decided I didn't want to take them.and that there should be a note on my file for it not to be mentioned. I was nearly floored when she simply said, well you don't have to take them and left it at that. Sadly I forgot to ask for a printout of my blood results so I don't have the breakdown of ratios or whats going on with other markers. My GP surgery has not bought into online results module so I always have to request a print out. Guess I'll have to remember to ask next year.

So all's fine for now. I treat myself to a Victoria plum in celebration. Bloods went up to 8.2 so that indulgence was short and sweet - Pardon the pun or should that be punnet.

Went to bed last night with 109 mg (6.05). I had a lay in till 0800 today and do sport later. I woke up this morning with 139 (7.72). That is after fasting at that point for 14 hours. I have absolutely no signs that are medically associated with Dawn Phenomenon or the Somogyi Effect. But I do sometimes get the feeling one gets when a shot of adrenalin is released as I wake up. I'm adding to this thread as I research........So to clarify: I am not under any stress. I have no anxieties other than knowing I have some form of diabetes through transplant. I eat extremely healthy do daily fitness training and drink negligible amounts of alcohol. But I find it hard to get answers as not even my diabetes specialist seems to know why I have this problem.

5.0!!!! Walked around a lot yesterday, as I was Pokemon go-ing with a friend, with whom I ate a late lunch/early dinner. I am so glad I broke the barrier on walking long distances while in Paris last week. Now I only have to break the 'work out' barrier and start weight training again.
