What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I had to be out early, and also to do some shopping this morning. But the two shops I went in were poorly stocked and empty shelves...

I don't have the energy to go on a food hunting expedition. I was awake at half 3 this morning, I need a very long nap now...but later this week I plan to break cross that border into England...

Everything is afoot here changing stuff and road signs for the impending 20 mph limit in September in Wales. My car tells me the speed limit and if I am exceeding it by flashing at me. It decided a whole stretch of road has now changed to 20mph from 30mph. But the rest of the traffic was doing 30 still. I think it is a mistake on the part of the car's system, but I stuck to 20 mph totally p1$$1ng off the traffic behind me, who passed me, beeped at me and the rest of it...I am avoiding that road until everything is 100% 20mph (there is a police station nearby and police cars, and is crystal clear by road signs. Yet two of the 20 mph road signs by schools have been removed and my car now tells me they are now a 30mph. There's more anomalies, and loads people here complaining online about this mish-mash.

6.6 from the cloudy, windy but still quite warm pleasant part of the peninsula!
Have to go the shops now, so will report back later!
Lawn is growing about three inches a day! Might if lucky spend time with my mower.
Best wishes as always on this terrible unfunny day so far!

Wanted to go out this pm but felt so tired I went to sleep. This has been one of the problems of late I seem to get very tired after lunch.

Duchess works very hard she has been out washing all our windows with her long handled kit whilst I slept this pm.

I spent the morning on zoom with some other old men where we had a session talking about the cars and motorbikes we had when we were young.

I'm reluctant to take myself into the garden this pm.
Shopping took my mojo away and apart from being lazy as Mrs L has a quiet nap, Lancs are playing on YouTube.
And doing quite well!
So chilling watching the box in the corner!
Weather is quite windy and cooler than forecast.
Fish for my main meal today.
Have a pleasant valley Tuesday evening.

Good BGL and welcome to this corner of the site. We did a Nordic walking course a few years ago - Southampton I think and we have a nice long beach to play with the poles. Protein roll. Do you buy or make it?

Here is the bread recipe.

PROTEIN BREAD

100g flaxseed (crushed)
100g ground almonds
Each 50g of.....
Hemp seeds
Chia seeds
Sesame seeds
Pumpkin seeds (chopped)
Amarinth
Sunflower seeds
Spelt bran
Oatmeal

6 eggs
500g low-fat Curd Cheese
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 bag of Backing powder

Mix everything at once

Pour into baking pan

Bake at 170°C 0for a 60 - 70 minute - top and bottom heat.

For the Rolls I just add a tablespoon of Psylium and some puffed Quinoa. I then bake them at 200°C for about 35 minutes.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen.
@Mallyman if it is your first time posting in this somewhat quiet corner of this informative site a big welcome.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.6 if they were 6.66 then that would or would not be in keeping with a few of the postings on this thread.

Today here in Tilehurst Towers the situation is as ab normal, plans made, targets set, then reality happens, Mrs J dictates, she moveth in a mystery feminine way and me, me’s and myself are given clear instructions.

I know my place.

Stay safe all and remember the phrase “Yes dear” can be misinterpreted as a declaration of marital war…….in Tilehurst Towers at least.
Hi Alf. Thankyou. Been round and about a few weeks now. My wife once said, as she was looking in the mirror, " I look absolutely awful this morning. Can you just say something to cheer me up?".................."Well your eyesight is in good condition!" was not the correct answer.

Do you know Ness gardens on the Wirral, Lamont?

Good morning everyone from quite a breezy start here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.1 this am. This morning is a time of mystery and perhaps imagination. We might though venture down to the cafe and then perhaps catch the bus back. I have it that we are visiting a venue at some point in the afternoon as a location for a reunion next year. Caught a programme last night hosted by Alice Roberts - they were, amongst other things, trying to date the Cerne Abbas Giant - not as old as folk think. 900AD-1400AD is the latest estimate using some fancy lab stuff. Art bit - some detail added. Hope your day has at least one laugh and several smiles. Koffy time.

It's probably a phallusy, but the giant was emasculated, in I think the prudish Victorian Era, hence the saying, "He is a man, but not a man!"
Someone must have sorted him out more recently.

I know of them, the bus from town goes there but if I have been there it was not memorable!
I have been to Neston a few times. Which is not too far away!
I live in the middle of the northern part of the peninsula not too far from PP.

Sorry, in my haste I failed to point out that the baking powder equates to about 15g.

Just been trying to finish this stage of my children's book and suddenly my Laptop crashed and I lost most of what I had already done. So I've spent most of the evening puttiong it all back together again - apart from 2 chapters which I haven't managed to find, but they must be there somewhere. There's no deadline so it's just an annoyance. These things are sent to try us - apparently. I'm giving up for tonight.

Oh no! I hope you can find the missing chapters. I copy stuff to Dropbox.

It has to be somewhere. I daresay I'll find it tomorrow. Why am I not panicking? No idea, but I may as well enjoy the calm until it hits me (probably when I start to look for it all tomorrow). Actually, can't understand it - the 2 chapters have disappeared from 2 separate places in the book. It all seems to have separated out. I did write each chapter as a different file and then put them together. Beginning to think that wasn't a good idea.

Late again posting. Have done heaps more admin again and am really looking forward to our visit to the Victoria at Holkham tomorrow. It will be lovely to relax in beautiful surroundings.

As usual Mr K packed in 10 minutes. It took me much longer than that to write my packing list and choose the clothes to take with me.

I will finish my packing tomorrow.

I back up writing I do as an interim measure, stage by stage in an email to myself and most certainly before I come out of the writing app and shut the tablet down @Annb , then later in the day when I have time I back it up somewhere else. I do different chapters as different files as well as you. And then also put it together later.

Raining in a penetrating drizzle out there...

Midnight came charging in at the time of midnight and leapt on my bed waking me up. He was indignant about those badgers.

Wildlife nighttime camera.
Cat Midnight - Perhaps if I ignore the badgers they will go away?
No, that didn't work...
52 secs long

Creative - ink painting again with those cheaper inks.

Today plans are afoot to surreptitiously break over the border into England and see if their shops are better stocked than ours. I need eggs. There were some in the Welsh shops but the date was far too short, I want/need fresher eggs....

Keep schtum...

Good morning everyone on a dull start with prospects for the day ahead here in the dark and dangerous north. A quiet day here, apart from, I think, cutting the grass in the back garden. Front was cut on Sunday. Some roses to dead head and some garden chairs that need sitting on. It all sounds so exhausting. Art bit, just a wee bit of colour added. Bin day tomorrow, a double dipper so best get moving. Hope your day still includes you in it. Koffy time.
