Fact, Fiction or Scam ?

Scam.

Mind you, with such an eminent publication as "Gadgetbabes Journal" endorsing it, I could of course be wrong. However, in the small print at the bottom of the webpage it says -

This is an advertisement and not an actual news article, blog or consumer update.

so....

SCAM

Titanium ions? From an otherwise inert wristband? Bunkum science for a start. titanium is a metal and the ion only exists when it is irradiated by an Ion Beam Accelerator such as at Cern. Apparently the reaction is Ti+ • 9Ti) + Ti = (Ti+ • 10Ti) it is short lived and is quickly quenched by adjacent material in the metal which conducts the charge away.

SCAM ALERT. Reminds me of the magnetic wristbands and copper bracelets used for 'curing' rheumatism.

Hey, I wear. (Because I don't like gold.) A titanium wedding ring.
Apart from a faultless marriage & saving my hand from a total crush in a work's truck door once..

I can confirm, its done me no other favours.

apart from...

I lost It for 4 days at a self storage facility Bristol.. (Brislington.) it was found by a colleague in a barn in Wiltshire.. (nr Wootton Bassett.)

Can't even blame "crop circles" on that one...

I don't believe it but having said that I wear a magnet for hot flushes and that works. I know because if I don't use it, the hot flushes come back with vengeance. Weird science I call it.

Me too - I don’t like believing it works, in fact it annoys me lol but it works

Just a thought - titanium is used in bone replacement and prosthesics because it is considered safe for embedding into organic tissue. I believe that casts and skull plates are also titanium. But no one seems to be reporting weight loss or cure from diabetes from a much more invasive application than a wristband or ring.

titanium is also resistant to oxidation (i,e, it does not rust easily) which also shows it does not have free ions ready to couple with oxygen. It is not totally inert, and titanium oxide does get added to pills and toothpastes to colour them white. It is also a common ingredient in cosmetics and is also added to foods as a colourant. We come into close contact with quite a lot of titanium daily.

PS I used to sell magnetic wrist straps for rheumatism (briefly) and in my n=1 trials there did seem to be a placebo effect. I noticed a distinct difference between wearing a band vs wearing my wristwatch in the same position. There was a definite numbing effect with the band

I can believe in a magnet having some effect. After all, nerves are conducting electrical messages to and from the brain. Pass them through a magnetic field, and they will certainly be affected (Gauss Theorem). This is why MRI scanners work. But the field has to be intense. This is why you should never dry off your pets in the microwave, or walk in front of radar or radio antennae. But it seems from tests done that mobile phones do not have sufficient power to fry the braincells.

Hmm , Mr Sceptical here , sort of reminds me of a modern day idea, of the things that appeared in the adverts in the old News of the world , xrayspecs , big slipper etc etc , seemed like a good idea but never really proved successful, but I am willing to be proven wrong ….. again

What does the forum think of this "miracle" wristband ?
Now I'm somewhat confused.
This article suggests unanimous backing for Steven Bofill and Brian Shimmerlik from investors on a "Dragon's den" type show for these bracelets.??

Yet. According to this. (On a show called "Shark tank.")
It was for a built in vending machine...

MIRACLE WRISTBAND, manufactured by miracl SnakeOil Ltd

Ion emiting cleans up your blood stream and makes you the luckiest person on Earth DIabetes gone in 24 hours just wear our miracle wristband.

Yeah, out of curiosity I purchased one of these wonderful lottery winning Wristbands about 4 weeks back seeing as the ads were being hammered out and surveys done said they were the real deal. Then I met the actual NON USA based suppliers based in Southern China of all places, "Gadgetbabes" well they attempted to take my order, but I paid for it through Paypal, so unless they receive a confirmation of delivery from me no money gets passed on. Good Job too.
Email one, Thanks for your purchase your Bracelet will be rushed to you, here is the tracking Number for EVRI Gateway.
Hmm tracking number for EVRI Gateway starting with 4PX........
Went to EVRI International website and entered the number, "This is not a recognised Tracking code .........."
Email 1 return to gadgetbabes, The tracking info you sent me is not working, please confirm details of postage

Email 2 Dear customer yada yada, tracking number H01................ Again EVRI have been contacted and apologise for the delay.
Repeated process of checking, again it didnt work.

Email 3 Dear SIr, the package is tracked through 17Track , then I get send a NON WWW link to the supposed 17track website.

At this point it became more than apparent that this company and the supposed Bracelet of Miracles is nothing but a scam. I contacted Paypal, who it appears already were aware of the company and the scam and refunded my money back to my bank overnight for once.

People like this should be locked up for fraud and deception, but at the very least MSN took note of the details sent to them and cancelled the Bracelet ads ..

DONT GET SUCKERED INTO THIS or at least protect your money with a money transfer company such as Paypal or Worldpay.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum..

Yep, the site I saw suggested the company traded from the UK? But then said the units were sent from China..

Thanks for your investigation on the matter.
