What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.3 - Went to bed on a 6.6, so I’m not grumbling.

Restarted my Cardio exercises yesterday. Another session today. Taking MrsE to the sheep-shearers. I’ve got a bunch software to BETA test and explore some juicy Black Friday IT that’s making my “plastic” quiver.

4.5 at 7.05 today. Happy Thanksgiving. Should be very quiet hereabouts as planes are largely grounded and 12k people in the area are quietly feasting. God bless and protect those who protect us. I'm listening to Amazing Grace by Judy Collins as I type just to blend in and because it is sublime. Lots of NFL to watch. Enjoy your day.

Morning All it couldn’t last so 7.3 this morning. I get up and test at 07.45 so who knows where I was at hours earlier. @ellesangel well done on A1c and as @ianpspurs says keep charging forward @RosemaryJackson keep going @Omar51 Happy Thankgiving @MissMuffett glad you’ve found a way that helps. Happy Thursday to everyone, take care.

Late night meal involving pasta gave me a waking BG reading of 13.7mmol @ 5am.
Still running at BG reading of 11.8mmol @ 8.15am.
Must strike pasta completely from my diet and try to finish eating earlier in the evening.
Going to fast today to make up for it.
Will keep hydrated with water and no calorie, no sugar orange and pineapple squash.
It doesn't take much for a backward step to occur, so have to keep motivated to stay on track, or face the consequences........
Hope everyone I safe and happy

5.4 @ 7:45 Yay! I’ve been in the fives all week. Wondering if it has anything to do with me taking berberine which I started last Friday.

Have a good Thursday everyone x
I've been considering stopping berberine as I've been taking it for a few months but I was diagnosed last month so figured it hadnt done anything for my blood sugars, I started metformin this week and my bloods seem to be coming down. Thought I'd save money if I could stop berberine but if the combination is good I might continue. I might have to experiment and see what happens if I stop the berberine. I'm so pleased it's working for you!

I've not taken berberine myself, but from what I've read, its effects are said to be cumulative. Improvement in 6 days could be a coincidence.

OTOH, the decision to have your last meal of the day no later than 18.30 and avoid snacking afterwards, is a strategy that definitely works for some of us..

I'm taking berberine for a month now, but no real effects noticed on BG. I will give it another month but I don't really think it makes much of a difference.

Please bear in mind that as a food supplement, berberine has not undergone the same scientific scrutiny as medication like metformin. Just saying.

FBG 7.3 this morning - but only after getting up, making breakfast and lunch packs, and a good caper around trying to sort out the feline and the heating boiler (fed one, put the other on manual, pressed green button and prayed it would fire up). After all that excitement, clean forgot the BG but came back to test cos I was going for a swim. I know it would go up with that anyway. A day at work will seem positively peaceful now.

Happy Thanksgiving to all those who celebrate it!

Have to say, I'm noticing the later I eat my last meal of the day, the higher my BG readings are the following morning and it seems to take longer for BG readings to fall too.
I awoke at 5am to 13.7mmol BG after a late evening meal and its taken a further 6 hours, from 5am. for readings to reduce to current 8.9mmol at 11.20am.
That is with forfeiting breakfast and drinking unsweetened orange squash.
Still learning the ropes here, but I will take note and eventually change my ways.....

When you say unsweetened orange squash @Ashybang has it got artificial sweetener in it? Have you tested your BG after drinking the orange squash? Certain sweeteners spike my BG but I don’t know what brand you’re drinking. Just a thought.
Aggghhhg I hope its not spiking me, as I've been drinking gallons of the stuff.
I'm out at the moment, but will look later.
I haven't noticed adverse effects from drinking the squash previously, but will keep a close eye on it now. Ty for keeping me informed.
