Hi everyone
my diabetic nurse has suggested that Ozempic might be a good drug for me to try, but i’ve read a lot of horror stories
Anyone who has had this or the alternative could you please put my mind at rest and tell me the good things about it
cheers
Becky

I think @Rachox has some experience of this sort of medication.

(please forgive me if I am mistaken). :bag:

I was on this for just over a year but I had to stop as I was being sick randomly and I had a permanent feeling of like of fear in my stomach. It got my hba1c down from 119 down to 46 and I lost some weight too. Lots of people said they lost weight because it made them feel fuller and ate less, it didn’t affect me in that way but I still lost weight. It all came back once I’d stopped using it.

hi Sarah, did your HBA1C go up again when you stopped taking it?

Thanks for the tag @Pipp.
I was on Victoza injections last year til they got impossible to get hold of due to global shortages. I then switched to Rybelsus which is a tablet form of semaglutide which is the drug contained in Ozempic. I have lost 3 stone in 15 months and my blood sugars which were already good have remained stable.
I have had no bad side effects but I do feel full more quickly. I have learnt to reduce the size of my meals so I don’t get that uncomfortably full feeling, think big Xmas dinner!

thank you, that’s good to know

I had Trulicity until it was out of stock. I now have Mounjaro. I did have nausea with Trulicity and I'm still working out it I have side effects from mounjaro. I've only taken two does so far.
The side effects wore off with trulicity after a few months and they weren't too bad. Definitely reduced my appetite.
