"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

Morning all. Went for a carvery yesterday with a friend so there were simple choices. I did have their gravy because it's so good but was very careful otherwise. Today we have lunch club but don't know yet what it will be. I take my own pudding because they have sponge/crumble with custard or rice pudding. @ANTJE, you are the kind of friend everyone needs. I wish I could get to see you in Frinton but it's along journey. :)

Stuck in all day because of the rain.
Early lunch of 1 egg, salami, cheese, 1 90% sausage. Greek yoghurt with chocolate and almonds
A packet of crisps and a nut bar mid afternoon
Dinner, 1 egg mushroom omelette with pak choy
Greek yoghurt withe strawberries

Too much food for an inactive day. Boredom eating

A banana, at 6.45. I actually despise food in the mornings, trying as hard as I can to get 3 meals with my working hours and never feeling hungry even if I don't eat all day or next 2. Going to be even harder to eat more calories as well to gain weight

Add my welcome to that @Crazycatlady59. Always good to see someone new on here.

Boring food at the moment. Breakfast was some more of the not-really-lasagne. I'm not going to throw it out, but it's getting to be a bit samey, samey. There's another portion left, but I'm not sure I can take it. I didn't actually finish the breakfast one.

BG on waking was 3.7 (it was the Libre alarm that woke me but, I think because I was laying on the side which had the sensor on it, it didn't register the low until I turned over). Had to take 3 fruit pastilles to compensate and then a cup of tea. That brought it up to 5.0.

2nd meal will be a buttered chicken leg. I actually got Neil to buy some chicken today because I'm pretty fed up with stuff from the freezer.

I don't really enjoy cooking for myself so I take as many shortcuts as I can. Can't really be bothered most of the time, even though I do get hungry sometimes. Tea usually deals with that. It's a bit frustrating because I do actually enjoy cooking and baking and have lots of ideas for things to try out, but no reason to bake or cook at the moment.

So mood lifting to have a sunny day!
B: greek yoghurt with 1 strawberry, dark chocolate and milled seeds
L: shared fish platter whitebait, battered cod, prawns smoked mackerel and 4 large langoustine. Not cheap but very enjoyable on the quayside watching boats with a glass white wine and soda.
Long walk after
Supper: cheese and nuts. 1 stick cel. A nut bar. 2 glasses white wine

A change from grey skies and persistent rain certainly @MrsA2. Exercise can lift one's spirits, but it's even more effective when you're outside and bathed in sunshine.

It all stems from neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine. Exposure to sunlight raises the levels of these mood enhancers. Humans, domesticated animals and wildlife are all similarly affected by sunlight.

Had three meals today as was housebound waiting to hear how car's MOT went and approving repairs needed to sort it! All done now and bank account lighter but could be worse! Previous two days out and about so managed two meals. It's a funny thing the meal restriction\ intermittent fasting. I always feel good (like I've achieved something) when I manage to eat less and in a shorter window of about six or seven hours but equally do wonder about nutrition and it seems easier to meet my protein needs by eating three meals in a slightly longer eating window - about nine hours. I'm increasingly thinking that as I grow older the three smallish meals in nine to ten hours suits me and my nutrition needs better. Still shifting it around hedges my bets! Meanwhile despite shifting around I seem to be keeping my weight and bgs stable for now.
Right lovely evening I'm off out to water my garden and increase my step count!

Another lovely sunny day spent exploring tiny coves along the Cornish coast.
B: full fat greek with seeds and 1 apricot
Not really lunch : half a rock cake and a glass of Rose wine
Later some cheese
Walk 25 minutes to pub for dinner. Local Gurnard in a very tasty sauce with green veg. 1 glass wine. 1 Scotch. 3 bites hubbys sticky toffee pudding.
Walk back home again
13000 steps, today

Yes, blue skies and sunshine here too @MrsA2. Perhaps the jet stream has shifted at long last and about time too.
Sounds like you tucked into a tasty dinner. Always enjoy red gurnard how ever it's served.

Definitely warmer here today and enjoyed a little wander into town after a late breakfast of some kefir then a few baby green tomatoes fried in olive oil served on a slice of toasted liv life toast.didn't need to butter the toast just added the tomatoes and a drizzle of the olive oil I cooked them in.
Lunch a few bits of cheese (Stratford Blue and vintage cheddar) with a couple of low carb seeded crackers followed by a few berries and hm yoghurt.
Dinner chilli con carne followed by a low carb blondie with a decaffeinated coffee
I've been busy sorting a few things before going away for our wedding anniversary (49th!) We are going to Brum in the morning to see Hamilton and have planned a meal out at our favourite Indian - Dishoom. Maybe not sensible to be going to a city on a hot day but plans made a fair while ago. I'm just hoping for air con in the theatre.
I had my diabetic retinopathy test at hospital on Monday which was thankfully quick with no waiting around just usual stinging drops and blurred vision for a few hours. They said I'd hear in a letter in about three weeks so was startled to get a text link to my results on NHS app first thing this morning. Thankfully good news all clear still so that was a cheering start to the day. I also got an anniversary present this morning of a new fitbit as my current one had given up and I was missing the step counter in particular - so it's good have got my new one up and running.
Now off into garden to do some watering and build up my step count I've got a fair bit to do yet today so will pop out for a walk this evening after watering as it's cooling down.

Grey skies with rain and not very warm here. Ah well, we would decide to live in the north west.

Cold chicken for breakfast - remains of the buttered chicken from yesterday.

2nd meal will be bacon and eggs - if I can be bothered.
i was hungry at about 12.30 so decided t have the very last of the vegetables from the buttered chicken - the veg and gravy had cooked down to a kind of lumpy paste which I thought would spread well on RyVita. It did, and I really enjoyed it. Just had some bacon and eggs with a couple of tomatoes fried in the pan with the bacon.

BG has been pretty stable in the 5's and 6's all day.

B: greek yoghurt and seeds, a nut bar and a cwc.
Ended up pleased I'd eaten so much as a planned hours walk turned into 4 hours as we decided to extend it then couldn't find the path. Ended up going up and down and up and down and up and down,
. Even included walking through farmyard full of slurry so very stinky.
Finally home about 4 so bit of cheese while hosing down everything!
D: at a pub which seemed very "chainy" but turned out to be very good. Had a lovely varied salad with blackened fish. Hubby had a chowder with so much good fish that would have paid double!
Wine, then another when back home as returning home tomorrow and must "finish the bottle"

Waste not, want not @Annb.

Good morning all. Yesterday I made some crustless quiches and had 2 little ones with a huge salad for lunch along with some smoked trout. For tea I had one slice wholemeal bread piled up with salad, smoke trout and hard boiled eggs. Some strawberries afterwards. Bg was fairly good after the bread. Have a nice day in the sun everyone.

Hi all, hope everyone well and having a good week Bit of a mixed one here. Retinopathy eye exam fine and diabetic review all good. Not my usual nurse but got a pat on the head and bloods excellent so she couldn’t get me on statins :) No appts for a year now which is a bit scary but touch wood finding the new lifestyle good and the results speak for themselves. I am sure all of you will keep me on the straight and narrow.
On the downside,a friend of ours has a really awful cancer diagnosis which has really shaken us, you just never know what is around the corner. In the spirit of that and carpe diem etc hubby has booked a ticket to see Bruce Springsteen which he was debating about as quite pricey so we will have a weekend in London next week.
Have a good weekend everyone and sunshine if you have it.
