What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

I am another one who cannot eat oatmeal with any degree of comfort. It gives me far too high a rise. Before I was diagnosed I used to love it and have it most mornings for breakfast and still miss it. If you can eat porridge with just a .5 rise I really envy you!
I had the same experience with oatmeal!

6.8 at 6:09, rising to 7 at 7:58.
I'm doing an oatmeal experiment this morning. I want to see how it affects me. I'm reading more and more about how good oatmeal is for blood sugars. Does that take effect after a two hour check? Throughout the day?

Edited to add, rose to 7.5, which was .5 . Maybe the short walk I had helped too.
Like many on here I have completely cut out any form of cereals for my breakfast. I was advised by my diabetic nurse to bulk up on cereal particularly oats and/or Weetabix as apparently slow release and eliminates desire to snack. Well I don't really snack much anyway except say late at night.
For years my hb1ac never went down but since taking advice on here I have ditched the cereal in favour of low carb choices (can't believe I can eat plenty of bacon and egg instead of porridge gruel) and my readings are finally showing signs of reducing. On top of that I now enjoy breakfast instead of tolerating it.
For me at least oats and cereals just proved to be devil's food.I hope the change works for you

Morning all. Happy Anniversary @DEBBIESCOTT. Enjoy your day. 7.2 for me today. The heat is really getting to me and causing internal problems so am not setting foot outdoors today. I love the sun but the sun doesn't love me. Hope everyone else is ok. :)
Thank you
