What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

7.2 agghhh.
I am happy to report, that I am having a nice peaceful morning.
In the garden, reading in the bright warm sunshine
Mrs L has spent the morning in her pit. With a do not disturb sign on the handle, unless laden with (I think I should be careful here) with a brew (phew!)

Mrs L had a bad day yesterday.
I won't go into details, but I was worried that her demeanour was at its worst.
Every thought, was traumatic, my name repeated repeatedly, asking or telling things not in the slightest factual or relevant.
I was worried that going to bed would be particularly diificult, hoping that her meds would allow me some sleep.
Every day is an adventure. Every night is a worry.
Another day in paradise!

#8 has arrived.
Oh well, gonna enjoy my time with him.
Hope my tired aching body can cope with his energy! Ha!
Grandad is better than .......!

I did have a disaster with tea once. I made tea for the builders who were working on our house.

They loved tea but when they started drinking it I was puzzled by the look of sheer horror on their faces. They were standing there like statues frozen to the spot.

Then I realised that I had made them Redbush tea by mistake. I love Redbush tea but they obviously didn't.
As Picard,
As lucutius,
As Dr Xaviar,
All said,
Can't beat Yorkshire tea!

Thursday night we stayed in the Holiday Inn express so not too posh in Warwick well more Stratford than Warwick all was great room was good the meal in the restaurant not too bad .
The bed was comfortable all was great until about three in the morning when the air conditioning unit sprang a leak the noise woke me so I got out of bed to investigate unfortunately the unit was on my side of the bed and I stepped into a virtual waterfall did not get much sleep after that.

Ahem young lady. A broken cafetiere is just an opportunity to drink a superior hot beverage or help the economy by buying a coffee machine - ideally voice/wireless/AI controlled :playful: A disaster would be when a teapot breaks or the staff are derelict in their duty to order enough tea. Such distinctions in the choice of words are important. One despairs at times:).

An even more egregious example of the above. :playful:
Koffy machine - no thanks but whatever floats your boat. Just had a glance at the tea paraphernalia - two teapots (one for green tea with a built in filter). Leaf tea in the form of Assam, gunpowder, Kenya, Uchiyama, Sencha Fukujyu (both Japanese) and some Xin Yang Mao Jain (China). The go to though is Yorkshire tea, and in a neat squared off portion.

My thoughts are with you, I did try a sip of Yorkshire tea but Clinton like I didn't swallow :) The Assam, Sencha and Green tea restored my opinion of you as a chap of good taste. We all have some quotidian tastes. I sometimes listen to Abba and will admit to having once watched ITV. :playful: Thank you for sharing the splendid art and thank you @gennepher for sharing the wonderful kaleidoscope.

As you know on my travels we had overnights and cos I was on a budget that wouldn't stand up to luxury.
I had heard about Holiday inn being just ok.
My go to hotel was Premier inn, tho, Travelodge was not bad or Hilton (ish)
Stay away from Britannia group.
And another, I can't remember the name, but at Wembley park, it was new but absolutely dreadful.
We booked b&b, but it was cold scrambled egg on a platter, and no I didn't eat it. I asked but the staff member said that is it. So I told her, that I had an allergy concern, That is it or cereal with milk.
I'm lactose intolerant.
Sorry! She replied.
We went for a walk to the main road and had something to eat there. We had to be at Wembley security at 11am.
By the time, we had our fill, it was time.
I wasn't happy, but that summed up our day there.
We were not victorious.

#8 had arrived, and spent a couple of hours with his grandad, messing about, making him laugh, and of course I laughed. I wasn't interested much on the sporting going on, on the box we were out in the sunshine, with his toy cars, his baby shark, his chasing the thousands of birds that have made the footie pitches their home.
watching the planes, helicopter, more birds, the clouds and kids playing footie over the way.
In the beautiful sunshine, warm, not hot just beautiful.t
And to cap it all, my team won.
And Root scored his second ton of the match. And became the most prolific ton scorer in history for England.

Hope you lot have as nice an evening as I have had an afternoon.
My bestest wishes
My allegiance is to Mrs L.?
But I'm terrified of the Borg Queen! :borg::eek:

I sometimes wonder mate.

The breakfast at the Holiday Inn was fine but a couple of years ago when we stayed at the Travel Lodge in York the breakfast was so bad we had to go and find a local cafe for something edible.

My mobility scooter is in bits on the floor in the front room the new batteries I bought the other day are fine but the motor unit is shot.

When booking, as with premier inn, always see if there is a beefeater restaurant attached to it, or has a recommendation for its restaurant. A steak in the evening and a wonderful English in the mornings.
when staying at a certain Britannia hotel, I just wouldn't eat anything, not only was the restaurant dirty and had a smell about it, the food looked as if it had been warmed up. No recognised chef, so for the evening, we went the chippy close by, I had a fish, which was beautifully cooked.so fresh. And we found a cafe in the morning, and had a fry up. No carbs obviously.

Hotels do bedrooms, cafes and restaurants do food, Greggs do pies.
