What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

I would say you can absolutely feel a huge sense of pride (some pride is ok just not false pride) in dealing with all that external pressure and still passing. The satisfaction of knowing you have achieved your God given potential isn't quantifiable but surely in your quieter moments you can reflect and feel you know what, I did that even when the odds seemed against seemed overwhelming. God bless you.
The problem was, I was never a good student. Even way back when I sat the 11+ and again my 'O' levels, it was a case of "if I didn't take it in when we were taught it, too bad." Never worried about exams or written work. I just assumed I could blag my way through - and did. In fact, way back when - I thought I'd not been allowed to do the 11+ exam that everyone feared and had just been given games to play. (Very laid back child.) As a result I always felt I didn't deserve to be awarded with the qualification.

Fbg 6.8

There was a low lying smog earlier, but now it's a bright blue skied sunny day.
Temperature is 24 in my back garden.
The DIY'ers sound as though they out in full force.
So, disconnected my sound processor and I now have blissful peace, apart from my tinnitus which sounds like an 8 lane busy motorway...

Creative...photographed my cushion...put it in Kaleider Kaleidoscope...and this is one picture I got...

Have a good day...the best you can...

Stunning!
Time tunnel?

Congrats all round, it's a good news Friday
No FBG.
Oh yeah, merry Christmas!
Mrs L has taken the turkey crown and the gammon out of the freezer.
Maybe Mrs L believed we are in oz?
How can it be chrimbo when it's simmering around 30 degrees in my sun trap back garden?
Lots of garden time today, grass got a haircut, weeding and pruning. And just a tad of enjoying this weather and and not of reading, with an ear listening to the test.
Makes a nice change, seeing the capital getting a horrible day instead of us lot in the dark and dangerous North.
Kitchen duties calling for a late evening meal.
The chrimbo stuff is back in the freezer.
My best wishes, enjoy, if you can, th I weather, cos I fear that this is it!

Keiran has completed his masters Thesis submitted yesterday now is feeling lost as has spent so much time studying over last few years can’t quite come to terms with no longer being a student doesn’t quite know what to do with himself now. But is far less stressed now.
Brilliant @JohnEGreen
Congratulations for Kieran.

Congratulations Keiran. #1 son submitted his thesis late July and is just awaiting official confirmation of his pass. I read the drafts which taught me so much about the impact of sustainability legislation on large organisation's supply chains - Scope 3 emissions were an eye opener. What gave me most pleasure is that he left Uni, over 12 years ago, to support his partner when she was pregnant (I was both proud of him and bitterly disappointed as he didn't need to both her parents as ourselves were able to support them) but he worked his way up from a warehouse job to his present role with a large charity who have supported him in this - linked to a modern apprenticeship. You must be proud of your part in Keiran's academic success. I'd say in both cases God has kept his covenant with both lads and yourself and Judith (I remember the PM you sent me) Both myself and #1 son’s supervisor are all for him going on to a Phd. Has Keiran considered that perhaps later? Take care
Congratulations to #1 son @ianpspurs

Congratulations to #1 son we both can feel a little pride in what he and Keiran have achieved.

Although I love this kaleidoscope @gennepher it is a little scary as it feels like I am on top of a very high structure looking down hundreds of feet to the base of the structure.

I didn't realise you suffered from tinnitus @gennepher
Thank you for sharing an arresting kaleidoscope.

Friday's FBG 4.7 mmol/L on waking at 6.00 am.

How interesting! @Krystyna23040

For me, it suggests a horizontal tunnel, but I can see how it might create the illusion of looking down from
a very tall structure.

Mr Robin turned up at our backdoor this evening asking whether I'd noticed the shortage of mealworms.

He's been lying low whilst in moult, but is now sporting a nice new set of tail and wing feathers and is gaining
in confidence. Only his crown feathers still look a little worse for wear and he's begun to sing again.

Mr R is now 5 years old. His predecessors were similarly long lived. Female robins come and go, but he's only the third male robin I've fed by hand in our garden.

That is brilliant with the robin @LivingLightly

MrSlim is in a similar situation, having spent every day for five years on the construction of our house, He had no idea what to do with himself now that it is "finished".

6.6 this morning.
Got some really good news yesterday - Companies House has at last removed the fake company from my address. I was about to contact then again when I received their email.
Also, I am up to date with the admin. My desk is paper free and I have answered all my emails.
Today I actually have a 45 minute lunch bresk. So a good day today.

8.15am FBG 5.9
MrSlim is packing his tools to take to UK. He has been bored during the time it's taking for his ribs to heal. He really doesn't know what to do if he is not building.
The damage to daughters house gives him an opportunity to continue building and he is keen to get on with it. However I am concerned that his long term health condition is worsening. ( no doctors for him - they can't do anything about it) and the ribs are not completely healed. It's a huge task waiting for him and he is likely to push himself too hard.
Raining this morning, nuisance because grass needs cutting before we go, and the strimmer is too heavy for me to use. Too heavy really for MrSlim at the moment,
but he didn't let that stop him. Suffered for it afterwards.
Much biting of tongue required by me.
Have been doing some research on VitD3 deficiency.
Am thinking to buy additional supplements in UK. Not possible here. They put it on health card and would refuse to sell more. But Dr prescribed dose per month. NHS information suggests should have been once a week for six weeks. Followed by lower maintainence dose. This would explain why the current regime is not as effective as I would like.

Taken from NHSWebsite:

Adult loading doses

If you have severe vitamin D deficiency, your doctor may prescribe a loading dose of up to 300,000IU. This can be taken as:

  • 50,000IU once a week for 6 weeks
  • 40,000IU once a week for 7 weeks
  • 1,000IU four times a day for 10 weeks
  • 800IU five times a day for 10 weeks

Maintenance dose

If you've had a loading dose but need to maintain your vitamin D levels, your doctor may prescribe a maintenance dose of 800IU to 2,000IU a day

Lower colecalciferol doses

Colecalciferol is also available in lower doses. You can take 400IU a day if you're an adult maintaining your vitamin D levels

Reading this 50,000IU once a month will not ever be effective. Explains the rollercoaster feelings, almost like PMS.
Neither will the 2,000IU per day I was offered as an alternative.

Also explains why the pharmacist was telling me the dose prescribed is too low.

Am thinking to take the 2k pill for a month. To see if that is better, but if levels are low a maintainence dose will possibly not be enough. Don't want to be like this for a month.
Overdose can have nasty consequences.
Still unsure of right course of action.
