"What have you eaten" Parallel Chat

B: 1 hard boiled egg

Then it was great to get back to usual exercise class. The teacher has had cancer scare so classes have been off, but she's had the all clear.:cat:
Even better was coffee (herbal tea for me) with friends after.

L: cheeses with lc soda bread. A nut bar

Supermarket shopping

D: chorizo meatballs ona bed of savoy cabbage stirred through with garlic and herb cream cheese.
A scoop blackcurrant sorbet.

We ate at 6 and it's now 21:30 and i still don't understand why I suddenly feel really full and bloated. I've had nothing since 6.

I spent a wonderful evening and morning with my aunt, and left early for the ferry, my car isn't that trustworthy so I wanted to plan for extra time in case it needed some coaxing to start for me.
No car issues so time left for a swim at the rainy and deserted beach of Hook of Holland. :joyful:

A boring ferry trip followed by a rather scary half hour drive to my campsite. Narrow and curvy roads in the dark while driving left, made even more exciting by some large vehicles from the opposite direction, and at one spot the road was flooded deeper than anything I've driven through before!

Very happy to have arrived at Brokhowse Weeley farm and campsite, where they hadn't forgotten about my very informal reservation. :joyful:

I quickly put up my tent in a slight drizzle, which thankfully was light enough to not really get wet. :)

Finally enjoying a beer in my tent now!20240930_205525.jpg

My cold has gone onto my chest again and it's making me feel a bit groggy and off my food.
A head cold is a common or garden ailment, but it does make you feel rough @Annb and the loss of taste and smell won't have helped your appetite.

Unfortunately, colds are apt to lead to a chest infection in some individuals. Can you prop yourself up at night with a nest of pillows? Do have plenty to drink throughout the day.

That half hour drive to your campsite sounded dicey @Antje77. I bet that beer went down a treat afterwards!

The weather is dry and I'm enjoying my morning with decent coffee, there is no need to drink instant coffee just because you are camping. :joyful:

I Pet two pigs and a goat while waiting for my coffee to brew so all is well.

I do have a nosey neighbour staring into my tent though. :hilarious:

I'll be visiting Frinton today, where I hope to go for a swim and wave at yesterday's swimming spot on the other side.

I'll see if I can get lunch at Keto Bite too!

Had some lc crispbread with my lamb's offal terrine for breakfast. Very pleasant. Cold still rampaging and I've cancelled my appointment tomorrow for flu and Covid jabs - probably wouldn't let me in even wearing a mask.

Still some of the fish with curry sauce from yesterday to use up for 2nd meal, if I can bring myself to fancy food later on.

Teas and coffees are the order of the day, with some very watered down apple juice for taking pills with.

Alistair told me today that he woke up hearing a moaning kind of sound and thought it might be Hugo, but Hugo was laying asleep and silent so it wasn't him. He looked outside and saw that there were several stags surrounding the house - must have jumped the fence to get in. Deer are usually pretty quiet - maybe the rut is approaching, I don't know. No fights going on, so maybe not. He went back to bed and they were gone by morning.

Wow, that must have been very strange!

Check the water quality for swimming, @Antje77 .
The water companies are very remiss, and after heavy rain like there last been this last week often discharge raw sewage into rivers, lakes and sea. It really is disgusting, and dangerous, and all sorts of infections and viruses can be picked up.

Looks amazing @Antje77 hope you really enjoy your UK break. Let's hope our weather picks up soon for all of us and especially for you in a tent - thinking of you.

Quick update husband has now had the skin cancer removal operation on his neck - happened on Sunday. We are so impressed with NHS. I sent a photo of the unhealing sore on his neck to his GP only four weeks ago and he was in to see dermatology plastic surgeon that week! Four weeks on he's now recovering from his surgery. Surgeon expressed optimism that he had removed the cancerous cells but we can't celebrate until pathology confirm it. So good though to have had the operation so quickly.
