What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

7.6 this morning. I never get much lower than this. I have self funded Libra 2 my last HBA1C was 75% gone up from 68% 6 months ago. Dr considering putting me on insulin injections. I'm 78 and weigh 12st 10lbs. I've lost 7lbs recently I walk between 7000 and 8000 steps most days and I'm reasonably fit and well. I've been vegetarian for 30 years so low carb isn't easy. I know I have to control my eating habits better but I'm struggling. Any help from anyone in similar situation would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi -

Dealing with this thing isn’t easy.

During different stages of my life I’ve been both vegetarian and vegan.

On diagnosis it was not an easy step to going back to eating meat. That was 7 years ago

I manage to stay under diabetic levels by doing this so for me it’s healthier

I wish you well in your decisions

Welcome to this FBG thread @Pambo123. We're pleased you could join us. Congratulations on losing 7 lbs. You've made a great start.

A low-carb-healthy-fat lifestyle is the best way to keep blood glucose and weight in check. I really enjoy my food, it must be said, and seldom feel the need to deviate from my LCHF way of eating these days.

Once again, welcome.
