What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

#8 says to be known as this character.
Help!
In that case keep a close eye on the Christmas goodies fella. St Edmund's claim as Patron Saint is outlined here.
If I remember from my history...
That is the ancestral home of Crinkley Bottom...
Also the home of Greene King and a giant British Sugar factory - both smelly - so a sugary non-Elsie Keto wonderland. Waitrose there does a wonderful sashimi. No, you barbarians you don't fry/poach/roast it, just pretend it is a jungle challenge. Ask yourself, what would Colleen do? :playful:

There is a seasonal tradition of making sure that no goodies get beyond new year in our house.
Locusts are put to shame, the Mongol hordes of Kubla Khan are afrid, very afraid. For this reason, the local council ensure we have an extra bin and on standby for an extra collection.

I will look into the Edmonds.
No, not Noel, you have to wonder, how that #***** got on our national broadcasters?

He's actually a very nice chap from what we know and heard via bar staff/waiter gossip. He landed his helicopter near the hotel we were in (slightly more club class) when in Crete, then our boys and others were invited to play footie with boys from his hotel or party. I think he may have presented some prizes.

Good news on the paracetamol helping with the chest issue. Prayers with you for the roads, parking and pushing. Take care.
Poor Neil. He had to park about a quarter of a mile away from the health centre and half of that was uphill. He was shattered by the time he got me there and had to sit for a while to recover before going off to a local hardware store for something he wanted. Then It was a matter of holding the chair back on a slippery surface, just turning to ice, to get back to the car. I realise just how dependent I am on Neil. Without his help, I just wouldn't be able to access any of the health services here. My guardian angel - I've said that before and I mean it.

Edmund appears on my family tree and, I guess on JohnEGreen's. I didn't know the story about his martyrdom though.

Ouch!
Hope you have chilled out now mate!

Hate tech, don't you?

What I hate is tech that wakes you up at three in the morning screeching like a banshee then refuses to work it deserved everything it got.

Saint Edmund was the official patron saint of England till Richard the Lion Heart decided to switch to Saint George. No loyalty those Normans.

There's a kind of hush all over the world .... springs to mind @Lamont D. Could that be the song you were thinking of I wonder?

Tuesday's FBG, 4.5 mmol/l on waking at 6.00 am.
Only just found this, no, it's not.
I would not have that on my playlist.
which that tune is from, it is an earworm, that I will find.

That looks very nice on the photos. Is that the South of the island?
it is very similar to the one near Chania, were we stayed. But it was not as advertised.
We were in the North and tho the hotel was nice and the beach was very good. The amenities were quite poor.
And lots of other European idiots.
I was impressed with the history of Crete, The Minoan ruins, and the WWII stuff.
The harbour was very Greek, and the food was brill, but it wasn't as good as other Greek islands.

My daughter stayed in this hotel about two summer's before, and had a great holiday, except, that she nearly drowned, and it was #2 that saved her from the underwater currents, as he was only eight at the time, I think he did rather well.
You ask where was the lifeguards?
allegedly, never saw anything.

Us Norse men from the north. Us Vikings from the only named football club in English football, that derives from the language know that a saint is one that has been shown a true warrior and is brave to face any foe, including and in particular something mythical.
It goes with our Gods of course, of which we include saint Yates, saint Aldo, saint King, saint Nors, saint Michael of Mellon, and so on.

What about St Michael, Patron Saint of school underwear, socks, trousers, shirts and towels at my school? Problem for teachers as most of the labels in lost clothes had the same name - although a few boys appeared to be called Harrods which obviously helped a little :playful:

Long day. Retinopathy kept us all waiting, and hour and a half beyond appointment times. I was crawling up the wall by this time. Other people were not impressed with the wait. We had to wait in the foyer, and the doors to outside were stuck, they were stuck open and it was blooming freezing...

I have definitely got a chill from this.

It was still snowing when I set off this morning. And the road was still covered in about two foot of slush puppy drink.

When I came back home, I managed to back into my driveway safely. But an idiot who was delivering some fast food over the road tried to do a u-turn so he could leave, and ended up all over the place in this 2 foot of slush puppy. He nearly had a meeting with next door's car. How his car did not touch it, I have no idea.

I came in absolutely shattered went to bed and fell asleep for the next six hours....

My eyes were still hurting from the drops they put in. That has never happened before. I got a phial of saline eye wash solution, rinsed both eyes, and that sorted it

Creative - postcard sized paper. Waterspray and inks.

I am ready to go back to sleep.

Sweet dreams.

Take care...

Ours did as well. That's what put me off school uniforms for life - I always had to have 2nd hand uniforms because new, they were too costly for my parents. The common folk were not expected to be able to get into the grammar school (and most didn't) so no allowance was made for their lack of funds. They would have refused me as well but I got the top mark in the county in the 11+ so they had to take me. I hated it at that school - and they didn't like me very much either.

Also yesterday’s lasering of my eye has restored my vision in that eye, such luxury to have clear vision again, I’m almost tempted to go for a ride on my motorcycle just to celebrate.
Stay safe, stay warm all.
It's good to hear the laser treatment has restored your eyesight in your left eye @alf_Josiah.
