What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

What a horrible experience.

And making so little of it ..bravo

But I bet it rankles even now .

Why do we have to accept such inferior Comms as if it's 'oh, well, it's how things get done nowadays ".

When did it become the norm ?

And a double whammy regarding the bandaging and expected reactions.

I'd say hugs is appropriate, but maybe a good bash of a gym punch bag might be better to relieve some of the anger & frustration too .

Hope the week improves .
No real anger - just irked because I taught my students to do better. Some of these admin people will be my ex-students but maybe it's not their lack of communication but the medical staff's - presumably not trained in communication skills. Certainly many of the medical people I have come across over the years could do with some training in what used to be called "bedside manner" and in communicating with the patient.

So no real anger. Besides, the way my heart is acting right now, anger would probably be bad for it.

Just discovered that in the return envelope for the monitor, there was a "patient diary" asking me to record everything that I do while wearing the monitor. Been trying to remember what I've done today and the times, and the symptoms I felt. Again - communication - the nurses didn't think to point out to me that it was there.

It is commendable that you are spending the time with Bonnie’s training. Some folk it seems have no idea about the responsibilities of of having a dog.
Thank you @dunelm. We so much want to do this right but I think that it is a bit harder now than when Poppy was a puppy as we are 15 years older.

But it will all be worth it.

9.4 today, back into target. I think being in the office is good for me. It certainly restricts the access to food and drink. I don't want to pay £1 for a can of drink from the vending machine when the ones I bought for home (for adult children mainly!) only cost 30p each. Likewise, crisps and chocolate - too expensive.

I am now three-quarters of the way through my antibiotics. The wound on my foot is healing nicely, but the iodine dressings are still drawing something out. I changed the dressing yesterday, but didn't do it very well as it came loose. Another fresh dressing today, and hope it lasts until I see the podiatrist on Thursday morning.

Today's work tasks include comparing a spreadsheet with a database, looking for where different dates have been inserted, and raising queries with the spreadsheet creator as to why. Tedious, and time consuming, but quite satisfying when it's done (unless I have to make manual changes to the database!). The spreadsheet I'm currently working on has 250+ lines. The next one, I'm told, has 1200+! Oh well, it keeps me out of other mischief!

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those whose toes feel the cold.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.5

Here in Tilehurst Towers it’s another busy day, firstly plinky plonky lesson then a looooong overdue eye test, hopefully at the end of this I might be able to read the music score. Who knows and as the saying goes “right notes, wrong order “. Of course I care, but not that much!

Down here, sarf of the Watford line Mr Jack Frost has been showing off his art work.

Stay safe, stay warm and a music line has just crept into my conscious.
“ And the fool on the hill “ Capitol Hill? Is it April 1st already? Capital?

Good morning everyone on another sun shiney start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. 5.8 this a.m. and so pleased to have got tickets to the 2am swing dance extravaganza which did, as advertised do wonders for surprised episodes of cramp. And, bonus of bonuses it counts towards my step count. Garden centre yesterday - deep joy! The cafe was nice. Echo, echo, echocardiogram later today - I thought it would be at the GP surgery - but no, a local hospital. Art bit - somewhat overcast. Hope your day moves steadily forwards - going the other way is not so clever but good for your balance I have been told. Best check on my koffy.

Morning all from a now sunny sub-optimal rural idyll: imho just a variant on drill baby, drill lest we become too puffed up. That bargain , oh so Keto, full English wasn't made in a laboratory. No fbg to report for now as other issues predominate: no, not can Ange survive?. @Madfarmerswife good news on being back in target range and the foot healing, less so on reconciling the data. I hope that goes as well as possible. @JohnEGreen great fbg so a good start from that perspective, I hope the remainder of the day goes as well. @dunelm hug for the travel and need for the procedure if it is not part of planned routine observations. Thank you for sharing today's art. No doubt there are issues y'all chose not to share - the can't complain tendency - despite which I sincerely hope somewhere in your journey through this Wednesday a light shines in The Darkness - one should definitely be called Jim Lad - (a popular musical combo M'Lud) from something other than a train hurtling towards you through the tunnel.

8.2 at 03.20 today.

Just removed the heart monitor and will get Neil to drop it off at the hospital tomorrow. Heart seems to have calmed down a bit for most of the time, as long as I don't make much effort. Minor chest pains though. Not sure what is happening and no idea when the hospital will report results of monitoring to my GP. I can no longer trust any of them to get in touch if there's a problem to be addressed so will have to keep on top of them.

Bright and sunny today and ,as far as I can tell, not too cold.

Good to read that you're getting back into target @Madfarmerswife. Well done after the high readings recently. Good to hear, as well, that the wound in your foot is healing. Not so good about the reconciliation between database and spreadsheet. Hard on the eyes. I used to do that as well but my eyes couldn't cope any more. 1200 lines! Eek.

Hope the echocardiogram goes well today @dunelm. Did the cafe involve goodies as well as coffee? Difficult to resist sometimes.

Exhibit A M'Lud. Take care, those readings on exertion and chest pains aren't fake news. However, you are one of the tenacious ladies here and will clearly follow things up thoroughly.

Too tired to post
Just lost my post. I spent an hour trying to do, most of that hour falling back asleep again.
Then lost it when I fell asleep...
Creative is dirty cookery on tables...in Mirrorgraph App

Mirrorgraph app - interesting effects

5.9 this morning.
Dentist check up in Norwich before the evening classes. So am going in early so I can spend my M&S voucher on some cozy bed socks. Perfect for this rather chilly weather.

I do love a wander around Norwich city centre. Mr K is so happy that he doesn't have to wander around with me.

Good morning everyone on yet another sun shiny start although Jack Frost was out and about during the night - will we wee the bin lorry cavalcade slip sliding away this morning? Anyhow 5.4 and the ECG came and wet - half an hour laying on my left hand side and having KY Jelly or some such smothered over my body - I did tell the nice lady that it brough back memories……..!
Mrs Miggins reports that some of the path that she walked yesterday was now very close to falling off the edge of the world. It may need to be moved a bit inland.
Overworked my painting yesterday so it’s now in the bin waiting for the bin men to take away - if only it were so easy with our inner thoughts - must keep in mind the words of Epictetus - do not worry about things that are not within your own control.
So - art bit - as much as I ended up with. Hope your day goes well. Don’t seek out strife - only enter the arena for the right reason. Now, where is that koffy.

5.1 this morning temperature has has gone up to 0 degrees over the last hour or so went for dressing change yesterday nurse informed me the good news is the wound is smaller but the not so good news is that it is now deeper so has referred me to the tissue viability nurse again to try and come up with a new plan.
Keiran is on his way up to Aberdeen to have the finishing touches on his tattoo.
Adrian has done a DNA test with ancestry and is going to call us on Saturday so that could be an interesting conversation.
Last night was listening to radio three unwind and it was basically the shipping forecast set to or interspersed with music quite calming really.
