What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Popping in to say that fasting numbers are still in the teens and at times in the high teens. Think I have diabetes fatigue.
The specialist is happy to apply for an insulin pump for me, but as with everything there is a bit of a process.
We have to apply for specifically the pump we have decided on. So we need to go through the process of choosing.
I'm currently trying a sample of a different CGM as my normal one won't work with the pumps available.
We need to check I'm not allergic to the glue of the CGM as I am with some other sticky things.

Also had phone appointment with hip specialist. He is happy with my scan and that I am progressing in strength and mobility, but as his ethos is treating the whole person he agrees blood sugar needs to improve and also 'need to lose weight'. Said in a kind thoughtful way.
Doesn't make it any easier though.

Far too warm for me today.
I am still sorting and tidying and having my clear out...
Creative... some oak trees.. I was looking at the oak trees in my garden and realised the leaves have come out but not on the ash trees yet. The photo I took of this painting is not very good. It has more delicate colouring in the painting....I tried several times...

Ran out of time today, again...

Night night
Sweet dreams...

Love the oaks. Mine haven't even got any buds on yet, nor have the ash or some willows. We have 3 different varieties of willow and only one of them has hints of green on them. The furthest along is the one ornamental cherry and even that isn't as far on as the trees in Stornoway which are already in full bloom. We've noticed before that the climate here and that in Stornoway, 7 miles away, are quite different. In winter, when we have snow, Stornoway is a solid block of ice but in spring and summer, Stornoway is a few degrees warmer. Probably something to do with the buildings (not exactly a megalopolis, but still).

thank you @Annb for the compliment

I can get deep snow here and the next village less than a mile away gets nothing, and vice versa...

Rather warm again...ran out of energy sorting my stuff! So had an afternoon nap! My freezer is struggling in this heat...I dare not open it...my fridge is okay, but I had to turn the setting colder...

Creative...a photo of a bumble bee on Yellow Archangel

Sun's out today but it's not warm yet. The leaves on the willows are slightly bigger today, but still quite sparse. Daffodils are going over the top, montbretia are shooting all over the place - one of my favourite plants but they won't flower until August at the earliest.

The blinds supplier came yesterday to deliver the new blinds but won't be back until next Friday to fit them. Neil still has to finish the extended frames anyway, so that's fine. He's done the carpentry but is painting them before putting them up (paint has been taking an age to dry, for some reason but they are ready to go now and just have to be fitted).

BG 7.9 at 04.15 today.

Morening fellow posters and painters.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.5

@JohnEGreen nice pictures

Now I must depart and satisfy my craving for caffeine, early morning tea, then later in the morning good old bowel cleansing koffy. Later knee strengthening exercises, plinky plonky to be followed by Parthenon roof cleaning, an outside gazebo with a roof. Slurp ahh

Stay safe, stay cool and avoid flying tariffs.

It looks as though this fine spell of weather is about to break. No just blue skies today but full sun and clouds.

My creative today is a kaleidoscope. In fact, two kaleidoscopes. In some places where I post my pictures, I am invited to write an ALT text for blind and partially sighted people.

I am quite capable of writing a "dry" description of the photo, but I want to write something more imaginative for the ALT description and I have started this morning. There is no provision on this site to write a ALT description within the photo, so I'm writing the description under the photo.

You can let me know what you think if you like.

This is actually from the yellow flower and bumblebee from yesterday, and it is a Kaleidoscope in the Laboscope app.
My ALT description for this was:
'This is a kaleidoscope I took with the app Laboscope on the iPad, from my photo of yesterday...
This one bursts with life! It feels like a secret garden where bumblebees wear gossamer capes, and every flower has a tale to tell...
After closing my eyes and having a daydream about it, here is a description:
"A circle of yellow archangel blossoms unfurls like a sunlit canopy, dappled with deep green leaves freckled in silver. Bumblebees hover mid-feast, their soft hum caught in an endless moment. This kaleidoscope is spring paused mid-breath, when pollen hangs in the air and the garden leans in, time hums gently, everything listening to the bees."
I also had ideas of a midsummer ball (but it is not mid summer yet), where petals spin like dancers in yellow silk, and leaf-lanterns flicker softly overhead.'

'This is a random kaleidoscope I took with the app Laboscope on the iPad.
There’s something soft and glowing about it, like folded fabric and gentle light meeting in a quiet dance.
After closing my eyes and having a daydream about it, here is a description:
“A velvet star unfolds in twilight, edges stitched with love - hearts, butterflies and quiet promises. It is a memory softened by time — warm, tender, and mysterious. In its heart, a ripple of deep blue hums as a lullaby that draws you in, to a calm that knows no words.” '.

Just my latest ideas, because I was finding it a chore writing down, the ALT text descriptions on my photos for blind or partially sighted people. Actually, it was not so much a chore, but that I could not find any guidelines of how to make this interesting for someone who could not see a photograph properly. There are plenty of guidelines to explicitly state what was in the picture/photo, but no guidelines to put imagination to your description.

And so I am experimenting with that now...

I had better go out in the garden while we still have something left of this fine weather.

Have a good day

Have fun

Use your imagination....

Lunch now...

10.1 today at 03.35. My own fault, I felt very hungry last night and ate the wrong thing. BG topped out at something over 13 during the night and I spent the night trying to find a comfortable position to fall asleep in. I did manage sometime after 02.00 but then had dreams of being very stiff and sore, which came true when I woke up!

Serves me right.

Good morning all on another sunny start here in L.A. Once again I have been lurking and giving ratings this week and once again you've all done very well with the sticking, pricking, swiping (although that seems to be Old School) routine. By and large y'all have managed to carry the cross of LC eating, which can often be a thoroughly joyless experience, despite all the temptations at times of celebration. Apparently, Brits are taking to Easter as being a much more relaxed and warmer Christmas - although even one bite of a creme egg is an utterly hideous experience on a par with eating Stolen . Thank you for sharing your stories of struggle, triumph, love of life, (human and wild) and your art. Today will be an Easter Egg hunt and family meal here, for those elsewhere next Sunday, with Boat Race watching: no prizes for guessing where my loyalties lie. Take care, God Bless and keep you.

I had gone out to post some letters at dawn.
I parked the car but before I got out, I realised the Sun was shining through some very old trees
I took several photos.
"A warm golden sunrise glowing through tall dark trees, golden rays quietly slipping into the forest whispering to the branches, weaving tales of old. The sky blazes with soft oranges and yellows, with hints of promises before the day begins..."

I hope you had a good day....

I do like your ALT text descriptions @gennepher . I am finding it hard to explain how they make me feel. It is almost like I am being transported to a magical place.
