What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Good morning all

Six point five this morning on contour next

Interesting hba1c yesterday. The lowest I’ve had in ten years:

Lab result five point nine one percent

Predictive result. Contour next as recorded on my sugr; five point five percent

As recorded and predicted on libre : five point three percent

… so the daily calculation from meters are fairly close to the lab report.

I used the “ medical diagnosis “ lab , Victoria London. Cost around £100 for hba1c and c-peptide , the result of which follows in a few days

The last c- peptide I had taken was 10 years ago and was on the lowest side of normal
I guessed you were testing privately
I had thought about doing the same.
any reason London?
Don't really fancy traipsing down there
I'm in Suffolk I wondered if there was a lab maybe a bit nearer..

I’m in Suffolk too. Lowestoft

The last time I had c-peptide done was about a two hour drive for me and cost around three hundred pounds

By going to London I could let the train take the strain. I treated myself to a nice lunch and including lunch, lab costs and train fare it was two thirds. Lunch also included wine which I felt quite decadent doing

5.9 today. I think it’s the last day of unpredictable weather. It’s warm, but cloudy, sunny, rainy, windy….and maybe a thunderstorm. Got my bloodwork done this morning, no line ups! Usually I have to wait upwards of an hour…depends on the day.
Having my coffee now as I had to fast.

Keeping fingers crossed for you. Curious with the fasting bloods was what I expected to do on 7th July but informed I've to eat breakfast as normal shocked

I don’t know about you guys but I’m constantly reading research papers regarding nutrition and the like

Recently I came across one where older participants were fed casein, a milk protein before bed. According to the study it built muscle while sleeping in elderly folk

I’m seventy one with a bmi of eighteen so I thought I’d give this a try

This mornings contour next reading is six point seven.

No they don't ask you to fast nowadays but if you have eaten, it can screw up the trig results which some results don't even include anymore which is strange as high trigs are usually an indicator of something else going on. I have v. high cholesterol, so I have been told to always fast prior to the blood draw.
