What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Thanks but feeling pretty much normal now I'll definitely keep a close eye on things and call 111 if necessary.
if your sugars are consistantly high have you the ability to check keytones? if not some blood glucose monitors such as the caresens dual have the ability to test both blood glucose levels alognside keytones. careful if blood keytones if +1.5 drink lots of fluid. +3 i'd immediately go a&e.

you can also get urine keytone pee strips to test those work a little differently and numbers for seeking advice changes i cant remember off top of head something like 0.2-0.4 rings a bell for a&e if via urine test.

libre 5.0 15 mins ago was 4.6 not bothering with fingerprick. just about to leave for hospistal appt bloods. elma & some diazapan ready. feel sorry for the poor nurse that has job of getting them. on that note the gp surgery still whining for bloods they've asked me to try get full set :/ didn't sleep very good. almost 6 months since diagnosed type1 with type2 being ruled out at the time several c-peptide tests been thrown out by labs due to prior lipids will see what today brings.

im going in armed with urine c-peptide test incase can't get bloods done. Really annoyed at the gp surgery the repeat prescription ordered missing libre's :< I've found the libres so far very very useful despite some quirks. its also helped a lot with fingerprick tests encouraging me to do. brightside will have hba1c a little earlier than otherwise would have.

was told specifically not to fast for them that was a few days prior to being told must fast by the same dsn. don't like contradicting info especially given from the same person.

i'd place a bet lipids is up a little alongside hba1c will be higher by a fair bit than the estimated libres a1c which currently shows 32mmol. nearly time to take diazapan alongside temazepam to try help me relax. been having nightmares each time received calls/txt to remind me about bloods alongside phone calls several days with surgery complaining they need to do their own blood work tests of which i refused point blank to even try last week as hospistal today for them.

libre for me generally reads lower and iniitial couple of days can read a LOT lower for first 24-48 hours. otherwise its usually between 0.6 and 1.4 or so lower. attached img is pretty typical everytime insert new libre2plus.

hba1c when initially diagnosed was 162. Current result: 46 mmol/mol (6.4%) on 01/05/2025. will see if its changed any.

woudn't mind so much if they just took after passing out with hyperventalating. to get put through that several times in quick sucession is not good practice imo. they say need consent and can't give if unconcious sheesh they had consent to try and do even if out for the count really doesnt make sense to me why not just do get out of the way especially when consented prior. What they do if someone in coma... obviously they cant consent ... And just do anyhow. Thanks for the luck the nurse needs it more than me.

Currently at hospital told to pop back in a bit as too early

When i was attending the lipid clinic in 2020 because of high cholesterol, I had an A1c done via the hospital, my surgery then asked me to take another blood test. When I queried why, they said that they had not signed up to see the hospital results. I had another A1c I done within a week of the first one. The surgery result was 2 points lower than the hospital results. Much preferred that result but I wouldn't have expected to see a different result within a week. Just feel that different labs give different results which causes me to wonder just how reliable these things are.
