There is no way to tell really if you don't use a glucose meter to test.

According to your profile, you're on metformin only for your diabetes, is this still correct?
If so, it's very unlikely you had a true hypo (low blood glucose), it's just not how this medication works.

However, if your body is used to having high blood glucose all the time, more normal levels can feel like a low, it's called a false hypo.

Using a meter is not only useful to see if you're having a low, it can also be used before and two hours after meals to see how different meals affect your BG, giving you the tools to make more informed food choices.
Many of our member self fund their meter, it's sadly not on the NHS for people on metformin only.

Sweating can be a sign of high or low blood sugar. The only way you’ll know for sure is to do a check using a blood sugar meter. If you’re in the U.K. it’s stupid hot at the moment, could just be the weather?

Perspiring can be quite normal, although very uncomfortable. I find scalp and face perspiration particularly irritating, but I have had it all my adult life. You have my sympathy.

What helps me with the body is only wearing natural fibres.
In this current hot weather I am not the only one mopping my face with tissues.

Hi @gillin1
You mentioned in a previous post that you have had the difficulty and discomfort of sweating for a few years.
Has the sweating got any worse? Or could it be you are noticing it more due to being anxious about the medication?

The heatwaves we have been having recently have been uncomfortable for me too. I get hot even in the depths of cold winters. Being overweight, postmenopausal female doesn’t help, either. If I thought it could be due to medication, which being on several for various conditions could be a factor, I would check with GP, or the more accessible and helpful pharmacist.

In the meantime, when the weather is too hot, I head for the local swimming pool, followed by a saunter round a supermarket. Their air conditioning is a blessing. Important , also, to keep hydrated to replace the water lost, and stay in the shade.
