What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Still struggling with dietary choices in hotel, made my mind up to convince my wife that next year should be a self catering holiday as food choices and portion sizes totally uncontrollable eating in restaurant. Even what seems like a good low carb bacon and egg breakfast sends finger prick up to 11, never goes that high at home. I reckon they must cook stuff in syrup rather than oil or butter
My average weekly BS was 6.0 before hols, now 1 week in levels average 8 and rising. Despite that still enjoying things and getting out and about plus swimming every day. Suffering a bit this last few days with weather phenomenom "La Calima" where winds whip up sand from Sahara and makes it rather hazy and dusty but still hot unlike gales and rain back home.
Power to your elbow with all your individual challenges and well done on the successes.

5.8 this amazing sunny, warm and quite spectacular day. Just back from the best walk at one of our local provincial parks. The dog had a great swim. Gym was abs and yoga
Officially sold our sprinter van today, big relief! Zoom meeting about our Japan trip in an hour. A busy day.

5.4libre 5.9 Fingerprick off for swim after breakfast. appt later on to try help with blood sampling needlephobic vein access. hopefully will mean local primary care at some point in the near future will try again rather than their current point blank refusal leading to unncessary expense and time wasted ferry trip then public transport chaos to get to another hospital. It would be nice if public transport could LINK Up without excessive delays (50+ mins) a trip that takes 15 min by car takes over an hour and half on bus. easiest solution would be for the ferry company to alter their timetable slightly same issue in reverse too with no link up. mainland trains don't link up either leaving just as the ferry comes in and departing just as the ferry is about to get it.

I’m a newbie to the insulin thing. I was advised to take a small 6 unit jab at night and it’s made a major improvement in my life. I haven’t fallen once since taking it and the general malaise , the dragging myself around feeling has all but gone

I like to keep informed about this stuff so have signed myself up to a four week insulin course on line. I’m also reading what I can , half way through “ think like a pancreas “

So last night I skipped my insulin as my glucose reading was into the fives at around four a.m I was woken by my phone bleeping a libre warning of low blood glucose at three point six. - I went to the loo and the glucose levels rapidly rose to over six. This morning they are just over seven and rising

Looks like this is a trickier thing than I was once thinking
