If there is a choice of units of measurement then ‘mmol/L’ are the standard units in the UK, ‘mg/dl’ in the US, other countries may vary.

Thank you very much for all this great information.In the UK they should all conform to the same standards for accuracy
And whilst some report slight variability especially with the cheaper units issued by the surgeries now they are tested to the same standard’s
NO glucose meter is 100% accurate there is a ‘margin of error’ as such tests from 2 meters from the same spot of blood can show slightly different results
You ask what’s the best, but this is an open ended question.. best quality? Best price? Best size?, Then there are other considerations like memory size
Personally I always liked the contour next range
Some like the accuchek mobile as its ‘all in one’
It also come down to if you are self funding or expecting the strips on the NHS as many surgeries will only prescribe certain test strips
