Porridge for breakfast, something with salad for lunch, the other lamb leg steak for tea with some freezer vegetables. Believe it or not I still have two bags of runner beans from last year! I'm growing fewer this year.

Another hot day today but it's going to get cooler from now on apparently. We had a storm in the night, no overhead thunder but the lightning was quite intense, with lots of rain so I don't think I'll need to water the garden this morning.

Sill trying to avoid too much cooking so main meal will be a cheeseburger in a low carb roll with keto granola for breakfast although the scrambled eggs suggested by George are tempting and a salad for Lunch ? Question marks because we had a violent storm overnight which has battered all my salad vegetable plants they look very sorry to themselves today. I also sprayed tomato plants yesterday evening with a diluted oil and washing up liquid mix as black fly starting to appear on my toms! But it obviously got washed off by the deluge so another spray needed this evening when sun gone down.
@jpscloud agree no watering needed!
@Annb Hope you are feeling more comfortable today.

Thank you. On the up. 1779954272785.png

Breakfast: Avocado on RyVita. Tea - I've run out of coffee. Hoping Neil can get some today. The last few shopping trips have yielded none so my stock has run out.
2nd meal: more of the soup.
I may have a third meal - good though the soup is, it isn't very filling. Maybe sardines on RyVita, if I can be bothered by then.

Noo! It looks like we got off very light here, in comparison. Hope your plants recover quickly.

I'm making another huge slow cooker curry today, the chicken was already defrosted, so after today that will be several days' worth of meals!

I got a few bits and pieces done in the garden, and tomorrow should be much cooler so hoping for some really good progress. I'm re-sowing brussels sprouts, swede and cucumber, not because the plants I already grew are not good, but I think I'll need more for winter supplies. I'm trying new varieties as well so it'll be interesting to see how they all turn out.

they have perked up a bit well some of them. I'm just about to head into garden and sow some more salad seeds mainly lettuce but also radish and beetroot. I'm also going to spray again to try and discourage black fly. I have got marigolds planted in tomato pots but hasn't worked as it should!
Had granola for breakfast agreed to do scrambled eggs tomorrow when it should hopefully be a bit cooler.
@Annb your temps sound perfect.

I might be speaking too soon but I haven't seen any blackfly yet - I do have a plague of whiteflies every year, but they'e short lived and mostly disappear within a few weeks, before the end of June. The roses do really well in spite of them but my very old clematis at the front of the house is nearly dead after being absolutely smothered with them. It might be time to replace it! Speaking of pests, my biological control seems to have worked, there are no aphids indoors now.

Breakfast was the usual porridge, lunch will the the usual salad, and tea will be what has become the usual curry :hilarious:

The first truss on my windowsill sungold tomato is tantalisingly close to being ripe!

Fresher out there today so will be scrambled eggs and mushrooms for breakfast. There are enough salad leaves for Lunch and will be salmon for dinner. Some of my garden pea pods are almost there so may manage a few with my dinner as well as some local asparagus I bought - sadly season not much longer so need to make the most.
I was picking off a few black fly from my tomatoes again this morning despite spraying yesterday evening with drop of oil and washing up liquid - difficult balance getting right dilution so don't upset the plants.
I'm running low on low carb baked goods as been too hot this week so need to start baking again and restock freezer now it's cooler. Panda soft rolls to bake today I think.

Breakfast: RyVita with cottage cheese and tomato. Coffee.

2nd meal will be lasagne made with beef mince and with chickpea lasagne sheets. I haven't used them before, so we'll see how we get on with that - assuming that I can actually get around to making it.

My friend warned me yesterday evening that she would be coming to see me today with a friend who has moved into our village and wants to get to know people round about. First time ever, I've had to say no to having a visitor. I'm too stiff, sore and exhausted and just can't face the prospect of visitors. Besides, I'm in no state to bake and I only have commercially made biscuits in the cupboard. At a pinch, they would do, but I'd much rather not serve them.

You're absolutely right to decline a visit when you feel so sore and exhausted - I'm sure your friend understands. Sending you gentle hugs and hope you feel better soon x
