Yesterday's breakfast was lentil crackers and Tartex. Coffee. Standing and moving around is still very difficult so I'm just grabbing whatever is close by.

2nd meal - I took some cauliflower curry out of the freezer but couldn't be bothered. Just milky coffee.

Lovely day yesterday + had celebratory fillet steaks and also beans and toms from garden. Today dinner planned of pork steaks with mushrooms and garden beans. Salad for lunch and LC granola in a short while to start the day before I go out for coffee with friends.
As a big birthday gift I had a multi function (14) smallish countertop oven bought for me. I'm so looking forward to learning how to use its different functions - first one today will be the steaming function for the veggies but looking forward to doing small batch LC Baking in it without heating up our big oven especially in the hotter weather! Hope everyone has a good day - it's perfect temps here today.

That cooker sounds very exciting @shelley262 - glad you had a great time for your birthday!

@Annb I hope you have a good day today.

I had greek yoghurt for breakfast, will have tuna salad for lunch and the last of the gammon stew for tea. We have cool weather with a bit of rain today, so I'll try to get the last lot of containers done for winter brassicas before the heat comes back.

Once again, breakfast was lentil crackers with Tartex. DIL just bought a box of Tartex tubes in Inverness for me since it is not available in Stornoway. I've never bought it on its own before - usually it is in with a whole lot of other wholefood products and it has worked out at £4.50 a tube. I hadn't realized it was that expensive. Must go easy on it.

2nd meal will be the cauliflower curry.

As often happens on a Thursday morning, my BG dropped to 3.7. It was just as we reached the end of our road, so I figured it should be OK to wait until I got indoors before doing anything about it. By the time I got into the house it was 2.9 and dropping. It's taken a can of sweetened espresso, 2 ginger biscuits and a cold latte (also sweetened) but BG has finally come up to 4.0.

Busy day packing and sorting ahead for going away early tomorrow. Crossing fingers as planning to go by train! Today planning:
Breakfast kefir with a few seeds and nuts followed by a few tomatoes roast in olive oil in my new small oven served on LC toast, salad for lunch and salmon with veggies for dinner.
Big watering session planned this evening and then it's crossing fingers that my veggie plants ok until Monday evening.

I was going to have an avocado breakfast, but Neil offered me a slice of watermelon - just a small slice of a small watermelon, but since then I have felt full so I'm calling that breakfast.

2nd meal will be something with the avocado.

@shelley262  your train journeys seem to be jinxed! Hopefully things are back to normal by tomorrow though!

Greek yoghurt for breakfast with a nakd cocoa and hazelnut bar, cottage cheese salad for lunch and chicken with a variety of garden beans, fried courgette and a couple of tiny new potatoes for tea. I just have a few new potatoes still in one container, they are keeping much better in the dry compost rather than on the counter top or fridge.

Very warm again here, but I got a fair bit done in the garden. Still so much to do!

Greek yoghurt for breakfast, cottage cheese with a little bit of potato salad, home grown onions and a lot of french beans for lunch, and chicken with french beans, fried courgette and potato salad for tea.

I've decided not to freeze runner beans this year, instead I'll freeze the surplus climbing french beans - I think I prefer them to runner beans now so next year I'll grow just a very few runner beans and more french beans.

I didn't eat a 2nd meal yesterday so got through on just a slice of watermelon and cups of coffee, plus painkillers (of course).

I had bought a pack of pigeon peas - just to try them and I had put them in to soak, so I had to cook them. There's now a tub of cooked pigeon peas in the fridge. So I did fry some and add some onions and a can of chopped tomatoes, with rinsing water from the can. That made the whole thing too wet so I added a small handful of rice. It was left in the fridge overnight so it was resistant starch by this morning

I had a plateful of it for breakfast. This time the resistant starch seemed to work because I dosed for what I thought I needed but I've just had a hypo. Pigeon peas are not worth the exorbitant cost buying them online.

I will probably have more of the same for a 2nd meal today since it's there and ready made.

@Annb Jalpur millers online have them £3.99 a kilo dried - that's got to be worth it if you like them and they agree with you!

What are they like to eat taste/texture wise? I was considering growing them but didn't get around to it this year.

Wow! I bought them at £4.59 for 200g from Amazon. I would have been better buying dried chickpeas at £3.99 for 2kg because they are really no better tasting and I think the carb content is much the same. Texture was soft because I cooked them for quite a long time but that is a matter of taste. Neil tried some and ended up with a headache.

Have you tried mung beans? I like them for a kind of pea and ham stew or savoury mince in the slow cooker. They tend to go to mush but I don't mind that.

Greek yoghurt for breakfast, cottage cheese salad for lunch and I made a thai green curry in the slow cooker last night so that's for tea for the next few days - it goes really well with runner or french beans.

Heatwave number 5 starts tomorrow so I'm getting a few things done today while it's not quite so hot. Yesterday I planted 3 containers with one Charlotte seed potato each for December/January potatoes, it's always a bit of a gamble but when it works you get some lovely potatoes which store in the containers very well if they're protected.

Didn't get around to breakfast yet - fell asleep in the chair and am expecting a visitor soon so no time now to eat. Did have some coffee. Wioll have to think about a very late breakfast - about 1 pm I expect.
