Has anyone travelled to Florida with type 2 diabetes on long acting and short acting insulin? - what does one do about the time difference? thanks

Hi LIndy,

I am a Type2 diet only but will bump your post up in the hope that someone replies.

When I used to travel ( a lot with work) I always tried to keep my meds in line with my body clock (circadian rhythms. It is difficult but I always felt better doing that. And there is the rescheduling on return home that is also skipped

Short acting shouldn't really matter as it's normally only taken with food ( unless you're on a fixed dose ? ), as for the basal, you have a couple of options. You can either adjust gradually by a couple of hours each time or you can split the dose. This was discussed at a recent DAFNE course I attended and there is no right/wrong answer. Good luck ! Mo
