Greetings Rob welcome to the forum - you will find lots of information and helpful advice here. I live in Northam just down the coast by the way!!!

The main question I have right now is that my fasting levels are high and hard to control, i have tried changing my dinner but no matter what I eat or don't my morning bg is between 6.2-7.2... Other bg levels I have got all within normal range so far...

Wouldn't worry too much about it. Morning fasting levels are a pain and are subject to dawn phenomenon where the liver dumps glucose just before you wake up. It tends to reduce over a period of weeks and months once you've got control of things. Even over 2 years on my fbg can still be in the 6's some mornings. I found the quickest way to lower it is a brisk 5 minute walk or try something like berries and yoghurt for breakfast as the small amount of sugar can help kick start your system
