well that wasnt helpful for me ..im type 2 and ive tryed or trying to give up sugar and all sweets and pop plus other foods ..its very hard and confusing for me to read that not very good to brag on something others cant have ....weres the sympathy

I learnt everything on here .
Have been educating 'my' own DSN 's plus consultant and other HCP's .

Thankfully they are starting to listen more nowadays.

It's probably luck if you get such people prepared to be educated by their patients.

I think we're all just fantasising rather than going out and eating all this stuff ! Anyway, the occasional treat is OK surely ? Well done so far :-)

I can still remember Bar 6, had to be the worst chocolate bar ever. When I was boy our local shop wheuse to have a Beachnut, Wrigleys and Cadbury's chocolate vending machine on the wall, happy day.........:)

Wow! I thought I was being daring today when I ate half an apple lol (first apple of the year). The OP has kinda stolen my thunder.

Seriously, wouldn't swap my wee half apple for a creme egg!

Just turned down a fruit Pastil :'( and it was only 3grams of carbs

The thread is in the type 1 forum, maybe best you don't read it as us type 1's can be more flexible with our food choices than type 2's.

I'll refrain from posting a piccie of one of my daughter's jigsaws, pictures of 1970's or 80's (can't remember which) chocolate bars. Sadly I remember most of them.

And if my memory is not playing tricks on me, I think I'd find most of them horribly sickly now.

Could murder a drifter though, or a packet of rolos.

True that-maybe some type 1's shouldn't read or comment on the low carb or type 2 forums either as they can't be flexible with their food choices-especially without access to even test strips.

I wouldn't argue there, however I don't get uptight about what other people are eating as each to their own, if a type 2 is looking for dietary advice I tend to always keep away from such threads.

That is completely irrelevant to this thread to be honest. People have free will to make their own choices in life without making other people feel bad for their choices.

Hmmm I'm not sure about that shouldn't this be about learning together all aspects of diabetes so we can educate those without diabetes, I have read so many inaccurate things here from what others have said to them or have read somewhere and it is info so far out of date that they were so wrong it is frightening

I think this whole thread started suspiciously and has actually progressed into a bit of fun. Let's not get into the T1, T2 argument please :-)

No probs-I wouldn't have had to say anything at all if Noblehead hadn't told a member not to read as it's 'The type 1 forum'...Us members on a low carb diet do not get sanctuary in the 'Low carb diet forum' as if we object to someone questioning the validity of low carb diets or derailing a thread-we get our knuckles rapped or the thread gets locked...good luck and health to all guys.

I'd like to think we can all help/advise in any forums here as ultimately we all have diabetes or live with someone who does. I quite often don't even look at what forum a thread is in, I focus on "new posts". This thread is clearly just a bit of fun and is open to anyone to post.

oops, i never read t1 threads, it was the creme egg that made me do it.....im outta here :)

I was ok up until the Rolo comment. Roooooollllloooooooo!
Ooh or a Topic. Or a Picnic. Yorkie (fruit and nut).
Why oh why did I think? Lol
