"A new you in 42"

Well,
I raised my heart rate a bit this morning - out on a run with the dogs, I got about a quarter of the way up a steep climb only to realise that a van was coming up behind me. A single track road with steep sided hedges - blast! Like a whippet I sped up to the top and pulled the dogs safely into a layby. I had to walk 100yds on wobbly legs before I could run again!
What's great is that not that long ago I would have face-planted a nettly hedge rather than run up a hill like that - so thanks Jamrox, and thanks guys! The hard work is paying off!

Aw thanks. I am being helped as much as anyone else . I keep going because of you all.

.....quite vigorous...? Its mindbogglingly vigorous, thats great going peacetrain....:) .....I feel a bit of a wimp now as I slope off to get my skipping rope... ..... not now in the hall as I threw it up with abandon this morning and had to fetch the stepladder to untangle it from round the lampshade as I couldn't unhook it...

....did 40 mins walk at lunchtime, I need a longer lunch hour, I'm starting to enjoy it, never thought I would! :p

Haha this made me laugh

I follow LCHF. I have lost 2 stone 5lbs and my bs has halved. As you say, there are many more who have a similar story on this forum. The reality is that they could start their own study but the fact is that they don't want to. If we all got rid of the need for tablets by losing lots of weight and then maintained, just think about the profits of some of these medical companies..........
That is genius, Scandichic. We could, collectively, make a change in policy. I feel another challenge coming on.

First of all, you lot.

Then fear of going back to high blood glucose, and weight gain.

Joy of being able to glide, (yes me glide) through water moving more freely than I ever will be able to on land.

Plus, the thought of proving that I can do what many have deemed impossible, i.e. Lose a lot of weight, without bariatric surgery, and get my diabetes into receding mode.

My snazzy speedo swimsuit and goggles. I look rather ace!

My nearest and dearest would probably disagree with the above and say it is my pigheadedness that keeps me going.

Hi Pip you lot keep me going too. I am frightened to stop because my bs is under control and I actually can look in the mirror now without cringing and seeing a big middle aged woman with 2 chins.
My friends say I'm obsessed and my family call it OCD but all of them say I'm looking better than I have in years.

Wish I could swim.

Well I dropped car of for mot, went to park and did 15 mins of vigorous pushing on the swings, walked to M&S as close by, bought crab for crab quiche (£3.50 a tin! Really! £1.69 at asda!) bribed kids with chocolate buttons and we set off home. Kids had dessert before we left. Yes it's true - more slummy mummy than yummy mummy I'm afraid. If you haven't read the book and you've got kids you should. This is why I hate Delia smith. She's so perfect. I am not, got home made quiche and we ate - at 8:45! Quiche not properly cooked in middle! First time ever! Walked for 40 minutes though!

Hey folks
Had an intense aquafit work out. I showed up people half my age by not getting breathless or complaining. Feel great. Even without the scarlet lippy.
I intend to go back again for more tomorrow morning.
No matter that I stink of chlorine and my hair looks like a brillo pad gone rusty in places. I am high on exercise.

Think I could come back to earth when I get weighed tomorrow.

Well, it's all of you. I haven't managed much today, but I am going to try harder tomorrow and that's because of you lot. I don't want to give up because it's tough at the moment, I want to keep trying. Pedro is a naughty little boy who doesn't like being back in the UK. He didn''t get lost once in America....until the day we were coming home.

Well, you can tell your friends that your obsession has motivated an awful lot of us to get moving with your challenge, and that is such an achievement to be proud of.
Oh, and as for swimming, I seem to remember you mentioned you live in Ayr? Wonderful swimming pool there. Lessons! Also, all that beach. If I lived there I would be swimming in the sea.

Haha, Scandichic
Delia, perfect? What about her famous football rant in support of Norwich City? 'Let's be havin' you'?

I have been out walking for an hour this morning, although I did stop for a while to just stand and watch the sunrise, but at least I've done my 30 mins today and I will do more than 30 mins ironing 'cos I have heaps to do.

..not long been up, still coming to, morning all :) ....twistboard, skipping rope and that **** 'mind of its own' bodyblade are on the menu when I get back from work this evening, and the usual walk at lunch time, lost just over 2lb this week...all thanks to jamrox as she made me get off my butt...:D

...BTW I want to get some flax seeds...have tried Asda and Sainsbury's but no luck....we have all the supermarkets here so someone must stock it., does anyone know...?

My friends say I'm obsessed and my family call it OCD but all of them say I'm looking better than I have in years.

I think it was Andy who quoted somewhere else on the forum that "obsessive is what lazy people call the dedicated" or something like that.

Just away to do my hour in the pool, aqua fit. Followed by a bit of supermarket fartlek.
