Newbie on glycazide and metformin

Hi please can someone give opinion. Was previously just on glycazide 40mg twice daily. Gp recently added metformin slow release 500mg one a day. Since then I am getting very low blood results. 3.5. 3.7. 3.9 usually midday. I eat regularly and well. Trying to keep carbs low.

I have had what presume to hypo feelings, sick shakey ,dizzy lasted about 2 hours until wore off.
I used Gloucose tablets and carbs as told by nurse then retested bloods.
Is it the metformin now taking my levels too low?

I should add it's only two weeks of metformin. He also asked me to then take two metformin after two weeks. Bit worried it will be too low for me to sustain.

Doubt it's the Metformin, probably reduced carbs combined with Gliclazide. The low carb is a good thing but because of this, you may need to reduce Gliclazide. Record readings for a few days and discuss with your doc/nurse. Good luck.

Yes, probably reduce the Gliclazide as that drug stimulates the pancreas to produce more insulin; Metformin doesn't
