Help! I have so much weight to lose

So go for 9st 7lb Zand - a compromise within a compromise!
Yes, I might just do that. The reason I chose 10 stone 4 pounds was that I stayed at that weight for quite a while before putting on loads, so I thought it could be attainable. I just won't know what weight is right for me until I've got somewhere near target, so I'll see how I feel about it then. 9st 7lb does sound good though!
 
Yay! It's Summer and for the first time in 6 years I can wear my denim shorts........OK they are still too tight, but wearable.:)
 
At this rate it won't be long before the bikini is having the cobwebs brushed off as well ! x

Now Connie...behave....the bikinis were all thrown out years ago....I am 56 you know! How are you doing now anyway? Have you actually got an operation date now (sorry bad memory) I think you said maybe beginning of July?
 
Nice of you to remember bless you yes I see the consultant this Wednesday I have had all the pre ops done anesthetist etc so HOPEFULLY she will give me a date for op. I can't believe it is finally happening just want to be able to walk normally again fingers crossed !

I can't even remember the last time I weighed anywhere near 10 st :(

I know I was 14 st for my wedding, and we've just celebrated our silver anniversary.

I know when I started university at 18 I was a size 12, having been on a starvation diet where Monday to Thursday I ate no breakfast, had an orange for lunch and a cheese omelette for dinner. Then Friday to Sunday I at the normal meals with my parents and sisters.

Then I met my husband when I was 19 and we both loved food and cooking and it became such a big part of our lives... but I used to cycle in those days, so was OK. Once I started teaching, that's when the weight really began to pile on as I had little time for anything else. Of course, he's kept up the cycling and his weight is still the same as when he was 19!

Life eh? It's a funny old thingo_O

Well it's quite a long time ago for me, and I remember it because that's the weight I was when my Mum died 18 years ago. After that I steadily piled on the pounds. I wasn't happy at that weight though, but it would have been better than 18+ stones!
 
As of today I have lost 5 stones and 28% of my body weight. 2 st to go. I bought quite expensive body moisturiser and lavish it on and it really helps the sagging skin become more elastic and less wrinkly! The health benefits so outweigh the wrinkly skin problem. My blood pressure medication has been reduced twice now and my heart rate has dropped from 80 to 61 when resting. I can do 5 km on the treadmill. I would never have thought this could happen when I began on 26th Jan. So, keep on going as we will all be so much healthier and happier getting into nice summer clothes. But I don't see bikinis in my future - ever!

The half cm is really important isn't it? I'm your height and started roughly at same starting weight. Have lost about a stone so far but it doesn't come off as easily as it went on. I used to be about 9 and half st but don't think I'll see that again so like you I'm setting 10st as a reasonable compromise. I think that working in half stone targets is a great way to go as it isn't quite so outfacing and you do achieve something much sooner so it alleviates that sense of not doing well fast enough. Keep it up xx
I think I used to be that weight once. A long time ago! Lol!

Oh how I empathise! My hubbie used to gorge on packs of biscuits, cheese, cake, choccie etc but it didn't have much of an impact until he hit 40. He followed LCHF and lost the excess in 2 months, the git!

Yes, thanks for your post. You have done amazingly to have lost 5 stones, I daren't even think about losing that much right now. I'm not good at remembering things like moisturising, I will make more of an effort now you have told me it actually works.! I know you are right about the health benefits, I seem to have lost my focus a little recently. It is nice to wear smaller clothes though.

@zand we all need to keep going! And encourage each other. Body butter is good and not too expensive. I was also given Chanel body lotion as a gift and I love the smell so I use this for a treat at night after a shower when I have done my hour on the dreaded treadmill and it makes my bed smell lovely. Blood tests this morning so will see progress over last three months.

Really sorry about all of that scandi. You've had a pretty stressful time if it lately.

Best wishes for Friday. It's a pity the test doesn't differentiated the food and stress related glucose levels !!!!

I was like that with my last one Scandi. I think you may be pleasantly surprised by the results. Mine only went up to 49 from 40 even though I had stopped doing LCHF for a few months. My morning readings were around 8.3 at the time. Good luck for Friday
 
@paulins how did you get on?

Also, what is your treadmill like? I was wondering about getting one for rainy days in winter.

Just gave the blood yesterday - results next week! I worry as I can't get it any lower myself - I have not cheated once since January, so this is the absolute best I and my liver can do by themselves. Another pound off today, but I think this is the result of the other major stress in my life at the moment, and not the diet and exercise. I will look at the treadmill when I get home from work, but I think it has 'pro' in the name of the make. I bought is second-hand from Gumtree - someone's new year resolution a few years ago and 'hardly used' apart from hanging clothes on!
