5.9 this morning

. I was determined not to snack after tea.
6.0 pre meal at tea time at 16.06. 6.7 post meal 1.5 hrs. Did not test before going to bed.

6.2 this morning, which I am particularly happy about as it was an horrendous 11 last night 2 hours after tea last night. I did a home made stir fry with very little rice but with a bottle of Chinese sauce that was in the cupboard, I thought it tasted sweet when eating it so I wasn't really surprised, it seems my taste buds are getting more sensitive as my diet changes to a lower carb one. I won't be buying any more of those sauces now that ones used up.

6.5 after a really bad night - combination of anxiety and the menopause. Must pluck up courage to see GP again. I hate going as I always feel anxiety isn't a proper illness. I tell other people not to be ashamed of it as it is as valid an ailment as any other, but don't share that compassion with myself.

6.7 as expected.

3.8 for me today. Steadily in my personal range.

No complaints from Paradise. :)

5.8 at 6:30am, but 7.4 at 7:30 and was rising... - pretty stressful day I think. managed to get down to 4.8 last night. Yipee first time in three weeks I've been back in the 4s. The Metf must be working again.

As to stress causing rise in bg. This must be my problem. I wake up, think oh no not another day of life, and then bang, stressed out! especially if I run out of toothpaste lol

Did you see my post on the last page, not to get on your case, I hope you sort your BSLs out and why yours is up and down before and after breakfast.

Sleep and the Dawn phenomenon are the unseen gremlins with BSLs.
Sleep has a habit of restoring your levels without you having to eat for such a long period, the body renews it's systems and tries to keep you healthier. If like me you have restless sleep, it can knock your levels all over the place and you don't get that renewal.
What I've read about DP(quick learner!) that also throws your BSLs all over the place because it reads as a fasting blood that is too high!
Once you've had your first meal you do normally return to a normalish reading!

It's your body, your tastes, your diet, you know what to do!

The thing about T2 is you will get ups and downs and that the low carb diet is the way to go, along with exercise.

If I don't eat my BSLs stay between 4 & 5, and don't move. It is only when I eat carbs and sugar does my body react.

Do you mean this one?

Yep my sleep is rubbish

My levels are all over the place and that's what I'm trying to aim for a steady level, with peaks and drops with meals, accepting that the general levels may be higher than a normal persons - possibly a holy grail, but got to try.

As for first meal - not that I often feel that hungry till tea time, but no levels haven't come down at lunch. If I'm really good on the no carns level doesn't rise very much, but doesn't come down very fast till late afternoon, evening, then gets topped up again,

If I go for a one mile walk I can bring the levels down quite nicely and quickly.

I'm on lchf and though I'm still in the experimenting with different foods stage, I think I'm doing okay (perhaps too much quantity). I have started producing some ketones.

What are your evening meal before and after like, that will give you a clearer idea of your normal levels, as fasting overnight are not working. Also do you test your levels before bed, not if you snack, as this is another indication if you are going to bed too high or too low that will disrupt you other than going to the loo.?
You may also suffer from the afternoon slump, when you feel really tired and can't concentrate etc.?

5.9 this morning at 06:10

I had been up a couple of hours earlier then woke again at 05:45

I lay in bed until tested because I could feel that funny feeling again. 5.9 which is highest for me. I now realise that the area where I get that feeling is right where my liver is. I wonder if this is the liver dump? I will feel this right through my working day almost and my levels have been higher.
Went to bed on 5.4
42g carbs for the day

6.5 after trying the late night snack again. I think this is work-related stress, I'm waking up with my heart banging at the moment (but at least my BP is under control).
