Hi all,

New to here, diagnosed with Type One at nine months old. I've become rather disillusioned with some of the blatant lack of knowledge around Diabetes so decided to set up a YouTube series about it all. My experiences, what it is etc. Thought I'd join up and see whether that's something that you'd all like to see?

Maybe you could contribute? Any stories? Things you get asked that wind you up? My favourite was "can you drink milk?" I actually heard that last night...

Otherwise, I'm a 24 year old musician from Surrey.

Right now I'm playing a lot of acoustic guitar, but my main passion lies in rock and blues. Going from BB King and SRV all the way through to more contemporary artists like Reuben and Tool.

What about yourself? Do you play?
 
Yeah I play guitar badly and keyboards not quite as well but I can certainly bash those drums!
Played the fool quite a lot over the years too.
Sang in a band a couple of times and drummer in a jazz band when I was a kid.
I love all manner of music ... if it flicks my switch I don't care what genre it is.
I think my favourite artist of all time has to be Tom Waits ... I know I know not everyones cup of tea but do I care?
No.
I've got a rough deep voice and he's one of the few guys I can sing along to in the bath.
It's the writing that gets me too ... I love Leonard Cohen for the same reasons.
Dylan Hendrix Black Sabbath Marley the Floyd Lightnin Hopkins in fact someone started a music thread a couple of nights back that you might find fun ... I'll go find it back in a mo.
 
Here's another thread you might like and want to post some of your stuff in.
Some of my stuff from about eight years back and more ago as well as the young lady who started the thread and has stuff on the tube.
We'll be getting a band together at this rate ... The Diabetics?
The Diabolix more like!
The Sugars?
Maybe the hip ... replacements!!!!

Hi Jason welcome to the forum.
Strangely, as I am not on any medication I no longer drink milk. 22g carbs in a pint.
I could drink it but I'd rather save my carb allowance for other things.

Thanks, all. Internees been a bit dodgy these last few days so I've not been able to get on. But thanks for the welcome.
